| Summary, etc. | Aim: This study aimed to determine the effect of intradialytic respiratory muscle <br/>training (RMT) on cardiorespiratory fitness in hemodialysis (HD) patients. <br/>Methods: Sixty HD patients – from both sexes (27 men - 33 women) and their <br/>ages ranged from 48 to 60 years old were recruited from Nasser Specialized <br/>Hospital. Patients were randomly and equally assigned into 2 groups; group A <br/>and group B, n = 30 patients for each group. systolic blood pressure (SBP), <br/>diastolic blood pressure (DBP), two-minute walk test (2MWT), peak expiratory <br/>pressure (PEP), and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) were assessed Pre <br/>and post 12 weeks training. Both groups received daily morning and evening 20-<br/>minute diaphragmatic breathing exercise for 12 weeks as home routine. <br/>Additionally, group A received intradialytic 10- minute RMT by Sonmol <br/>respiratory trainer device three times per week. Pre and post 12 weeks training, <br/>group (B) received intradialytic diaphragmatic breathing exercise for 12 weeks 3 <br/>sessions per week. Results: Results showed a significant improvement in all <br/>outcomes in both groups but the improvements of group A were higher than group <br/>B. Between-group analysis of post-values of outcomes showed a significant <br/>improvement in all outcomes at toward group A PEP (cmH2O) improved by 29.59 <br/>%, LVEF (%) improved by 8.5 %, 2MWT(meter) improved by 19.32 % , <br/>SBP(mmHg) improved by 4.79 % , DBP(mmHg) improved by 5.10 %. <br/>Conclusion: It could be concluded from this trial that adding 12-week RMT to <br/>diaphragmatic breathing exercise maximizes the significant improvement of <br/>outcomes (PEP, LVEF, 2MWT, SBP, and DBP) gained from diaphragmatic <br/>breathing exercise. |

| Summary, etc. | هدف الرسالة: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحديد تأثير تقوية عضلات التنفس أثناء جلسة الغسيل الكلوي على الكفاءة القلبية الرئوية. طرق البحث: تم تجميع 60 مريضًا من مرضى الغسيل الكلوى – من كلا الجنسين وتراوحت أعمارهم بين 48 إلى 60 عامًا من مستشفى ناصر التخصصي. تم توزيع المرضى بشكل عشوائي ومتساوى إلى مجموعتين؛ المجموعة (أ) والمجموعة (ب)، ن = 30 مريضا لكل مجموعة. تلقت كلا المجموعتين تمرين تنفس الحجاب الحاجز لمدة 20 دقيقة يوميًا في الصباح والمساء لمدة 12 أسبوعًا. بالإضافة إلى ذلك تلقت المجموعة (أ) تدريب عضلات التنفس لمدة 10 دقائق أثناء جلسة الغسيل الكلوى ثلاث مرات في الأسبوع. قبل وبعد 12 أسبوعًا، تم قياس ضغط الدم الانقباضي ، وضغط الدم الانبساطي ، واختبار المشي لمدة دقيقتين، وضغط الزفير الأقصى، والكسر القذفي للبطين الأيسر.النتائج: أظهرت النتائج تحسنا كبيرا في جميع النتائج في كلا المجموعتين ولكن التحسينات في المجموعة (أ) كانت أعلى من المجموعة (ب). وأظهر التحليل بين المجموعة للقيم البعدية للنتائج تحسنا كبيرا في جميع النتائج في اتجاه المجموعة (أ).الخلاصة: يمكن أن نستنتج من هذه التجربة أن إضافة تدريب عضلات التنفس لمدة 12 أسبوعًا إلى تمرين تنفس الحجاب الحاجز يزيد من التحسن الكبير في النتائج (ضغط الدم الانقباضي ، وضغط الدم الانبساطي ، واختبار المشي لمدة دقيقتين، وضغط الزفير الأقصى، والكسر القذفي للبطين الأيسر) المكتسبة من تمرين تنفس الحجاب الحاجز. |
