| Summary, etc. | Ultrasound (US) elastography is a crucial non-invasive technique for assessing tissue stiffness, aiding in diagnosing conditions like liver disease and tumors. This study validates US-Elasto, a manufacturer-independent add-on module designed to integrate elastography into conventional B-mode ultrasound systems. Tested on 10 US machines from 7 manufacturers using a breast elastography phantom, US-Elasto employed a novel displacement tracking technique to generate strain images, revealing a strain ratio of 2.52±0.29 between stiffer masses and background tissue. Clinical validation with 81 breast scans from 56 patients demonstrated strong agreement (r = 0.937, R² = 0.88) with commercial elastography systems. These results confirm US-Elasto’s accuracy and potential as a cost-effective, vendor-neutral solution, expanding access to advanced elastography for broader clinical use. |
