Summary, etc.	Background: Chronic sinusitis is a common inflammatory condition defined by <br/>persistent symptomatic inflammation of the sinonasal cavities lasting longer than 3 <br/>months. It accounts for 1% to 2% of total physician encounters and is associated with <br/>large health care expenditures. <br/>Purpose: The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of the effect of <br/>Nasacort nasal spray by iontophoresis application on facial pain, nasal obstruction, <br/>nasal discharge and runny nose in patients with chronic maxillary sinusitis. <br/>Subject and Methods: Sixty subjects with chronic maxillary sinusitis from both <br/>sexes (36 males and 24 females) with age older than 22 years were referred by <br/>physician, they were randomly distributed into two equal groups , each one had 30 <br/>subjects. Group (A): received Nasacort nasal spray contains the Triamcinolone <br/>acetonide by giving two sprays at time in each nostril which equals 220mcg with <br/>nasal massage for 10 minutes for 7 sessions; day after day for 2 consecutive weeks as <br/>a total period of treatment. Group (B): received Nasacort nasal spray by <br/>iontophoresis through intranasal electrodes with nasal massage for 10 minutes for 7 <br/>sessions day after day for 2 consecutive weeks as a total period of treatment. <br/>Outcomes: The effectiveness of treatment on facial pain, nasal obstruction, nasal <br/>discharge and runny nose caused by chronic maxillary sinusitis were measured by <br/>sino-nasal outcome test 22 (SNOT-22) <br/>Results: Group (B) demonstrated a significant reduction in Sino-nasal symptom <br/>severity, with the mean total score reduction at the 1-month follow-up indicating that <br/>the treatment group experienced a much greater reduction in sino-nasal symptom <br/>severity with no recurency compared to Group (A) <br/>Conclusion: corticosteroid delivery via iontophoresis is a highly effective and well-<br/>tolerated treatment for chronic maxillary sinusitis. The significant reduction in total <br/>sino-nasal symptom scores, along with marked improvement in facial pain, nasal <br/>obstruction, nasal discharge, and runny nose, highlights the therapeutic potential of <br/>this localized, non-invasive approach.

Summary, etc.	الخلفية: التهاب الجيوب الأنفية المزمن هو حالة التهابية شائعة تُعرف بالتهاب مستمر في التجاويف الأنفية والجيوب يستمر لأكثر من ثلاثة أشهر. ويمثل هذا المرض ما نسبته 1% إلى 2% من إجمالي زيارات الأطباء، ويُعد من الحالات التي تُسهم بشكل كبير في زيادة النفقات الصحي. الهدف من البحث: أجريت هذه الدراسة لتقييم تأثير بخاخ الأنف "نازاكورت"عند استخدامه بتقنية الارحال الأيوني على آلام الوجه، انسداد الانف، الافرازات الانفية، وسيلان الأنف لدى مرضى التهاب الجيوب الأنفية الفكيّة المزمن. المرضى ووسائل البحث: اشترك في الدراسة 60 مريضاً (36 ذكراً و24 أنثى) ممن تجاوزوا سن 22 عاماً، وتم تحويلهم من قبل الأطباء، ثم توزيعهم عشوائياً إلى مجموعتين متساويتين بواقع 30 مريضاً في كل مجموعة: المجموعة (أ): تلقت بخاخ نازاكورت المحتوي على "تريامسينولون أسيتونيد" بجرعة تعادل 220 ميكروغرام (بخّتين في كل فتحة أنف)، بالإضافة إلى تدليك الأنف لمدة 10 دقائق، بمعدل مرة كل يومين لمدة أسبوعين (بواقع 7 جلسات). المجموعة (ب): تلقت بخاخ نازاكورت عن طريق تقنية الارحال الأيوني باستخدام أقطاب كهربائية داخل الأنف، مع تدليك أنفي لمدة 10 دقائق، بنفس الجدول الزمني للمجموعة الأولى. التقييم: تم تقييم الأعراض مثل آلام الوجه، انسداد الانف، الافرازات الانفية، وسيلان الأنف باستخدام نتائج استبيان الأنف والجيوب الأنفية (SNOT-22). النتائج: أظهرت المجموعة العلاجية (المجموعة ب) تحسنًا كبيرًا في شدة الأعراض، حيث انخفض متوسط المجموع الكلي للدرجات بعد شهر من المتابعة و عدم تكرار ظهور الاعراض، مما يشير إلى تحسّن أكبر مقارنة بالمجموعة الضابطة. الاستنتاج: يُعد توصيل الكورتيكوستيرويدات عبر تقنية الارحال الأيوني علاجًا فعالًا وآمنًا لالتهاب الجيوب الأنفية الفكيّة المزمن. ويُبرز الانخفاض الكبير في درجات الأعراض، إلى جانب التحسن الملحوظ في آلام الوجه وانسداد الانف و الافرازات الانفية وسيلان الأنف، الفعالية العلاجية لهذا النهج الموضعي وغير الجراحي.
