| Summary, etc. | Background: Smartphone addiction has a direct impact on shoulder and neck <br/>function. Due to considerable level of smartphone use, concern has been expressed <br/>concerning adverse effects of mobile device use on shoulder muscle strength and <br/>proprioception in young adults. Objective: Aim of the was to investigate the <br/>relationship between smartphone addiction and its impact on shoulder muscles <br/>strength and proprioception. Method : This was a cross-sectional study with 94 <br/>participants (47 smartphone addicts and 47 non-addicts) aged 18–24 years. <br/>smartphone addiction was assessed using the Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short <br/>Version. Proprioception was assessed using a smartphone application (clinometer) <br/>to measure shoulder joint repositioning errors for flexion, abduction, internal and <br/>external rotation movements. Muscle strength was assessed using a hand-held <br/>dynamometer for the same movements. Results: Addiction to smartphone <br/>presented a marked increase in proprioception errors (p=0. 001) and weakness <br/>(p=0. 001) compared with the control sample. Proprioception errors were the best <br/>predictors of addiction status. Strength measures were significantly reduced but <br/>their role as classification indicators was less significant. Conclusion: The results <br/>showed that smartphone misuse was associated with significantly impaired <br/>shoulder proprioception and muscle strength, and that the deficits in proprioception <br/>were much more apparent and indicative than those in strength. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: يؤثر إدمان الهواتف الذكية بشكل مباشر على وظائف الكتف والرقبة. ونظرًا لمستوى استخدام الهواتف الذكية الكبير، فقد أُعرب عن القلق بشأن الآثار السلبية لاستخدام الأجهزة المحمولة على قوة العضلات والاحساس الداخلىللكتف لدى الشباب. الأهداف: الهدف من هذا البحث هو دراسة العلاقة بين إدمان الهواتف الذكية وتأثيره على قوة العضلات والاحساس الداخلى للكتف.الاساليب : اجريت هذه الدراسةعلى94 مشاركًا (47 مدمنًا للهواتف الذكية و47 غير مدمن) تتراوح أعمارهم بين 18 و24 عامًا. تم تقييم إدمان الهواتف الذكية باستخدام مقياس إدمان الهواتف الذكية - النسخة القصيرة.(SAS-SV)تم تقييم الاحساس الداخلى باستخدام تطبيق هاتف ذكي (مقياس الميل) لقياس أخطاء إعادة وضع مفصل الكتف لحركات الانثناء والاختطاف والدوران الداخلي والخارجي. تم تقييم قوة العضلات باستخدام مقياس دينامومتر محمول باليد لنفس الحركات. النتائج: أظهر إدمان الأجهزة المحمولة زيادة ملحوظة في أخطاء الاحساس الداخلى (p = 0.001) وانخفاضا فى قوة العضلات (p = 0.001) مقارنة بالمجموعة الضابطة. كانت أخطاء الاحساس الداخلى أفضل مؤشرات حالة الإدمان. انخفضت مقاييس القوة بشكل ملحوظ، لكن دورها كمؤشرات تصنيفية كان أقل أهمية. الخلاصة: أظهرت النتائج أن إساءة استخدام الهواتف الذكية ارتبطت بضعف كبير في الاحساس الداخلى للكتف وقوة عضلاته، وأن الخلل في الاحساس الداخلى كان أكثر وضوحًا ودلالةً من الضعف في قوة العضلات. |
