| Summary, etc. | Purpose: The current study evaluated the effect of early photobiomodulation therapy on pain and range of motion following flexor tendon repair. Methods: Forty-four patients from both genders and their ages ranged from 22-45 years who underwent surgery for repairing flexor tendon injuries (zone II and III ) , suffered from pain and limitation in finger Range of Motion (ROM) post repair. They were recruited from out clinics of Cairo University Hospitals and randomly divided into two equal groups (each group had 22 patients). Group A (Study Group) consisted of 22 patients (8 females and 14 males) who received Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), 3 sessions per week, for 4 weeks in addition to their traditional physical therapy program and medical treatment. Group B (Control Group) consisted of 22 patients (9 females and 13 males) who received placebo LLLT, 3 sessions per week for 4 weeks in addition to their traditional physical therapy program and medical treatment. Finger pain and ROM were measured by Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Goniometer, respectively, before treatment start and after 2 and 4 weeks of treatment. Results: Within-group results revealed significant improvements in finger pain and ROM post-treatment within each group (p-value=0.001). Between-group results showed significant differences between Group A and Group B after 2 and 4 weeks of treatment with (p-value=0.001 and p-value=0.001). This significant increase in favor of Group A (Study Group). Conclusion: Early application of photobiomodulation therapy is an effective modality in improving pain and range of motion following flexor tendon repair. |

| Summary, etc. | هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى تقييم تأثير العلاج الضوئي الحيوي المبكر على الألم ومدى الحركة بعد إصلاح وتر العضلة القابضة. شملت الدراسة أربعة وأربعين مريضًا من كلا الجنسين، تراوحت أعمارهم بين 22 و45 عامًا ممن خضعوا لجراحة لإصلاح إصابات أوتار العضلات القابضة (المنطقة الثانية والثالثة) وكانوا يعانون من ألم وتقييد في مدى حركة الأصابع بعد الإصلاح. تم اختيارهم من العيادات الخارجية بمستشفيات جامعة القاهرة، وتم تقسيمهم عشوائيًا إلى مجموعتين متساويتين (كل مجموعة ضمت 22 مريضًا). المجموعة أ (مجموعة الدراسة) : تضمنت 22 مريضًا ( 8 اناث و 14 ذكور). تلقوا العلاج بالليزر منخفض الشدة (LLLT) ثلاث جلسات أسبوعيًا لمدة أربعة أسابيع، بالإضافة إلى برنامج العلاج الطبيعي التقليدي والعلاج الطبي. المجموعة ب (مجموعة التحكم) : تضمنت 22 مريضًا ( 9 اناث و 13 ذكور). تلقوا علاجًا وهميًا بالليزر منخفض الشدة (LLLT)، ثلاث جلسات أسبوعيًا لمدة أربعة أسابيع، بالإضافة إلى برنامج العلاج الطبيعي التقليدي والعلاج الطبي. تم قياس ألم الأصابع ومدى الحركة باستخدام مقياس الألم البصري (VAS) وجهاز القياس الزاوي (ometerGoni) على التوالي، قبل بدء العلاج وبعد أسبوعين وأربعة أسابيع من العلاج. أظهرت النتائج داخل كل مجموعة (القيمه الاحتماليه =0.001) تحسنًا كبيرًا في ألم الأصابع ومدى حركتها بعد العلاج. كما أظهرت نتائج المقارنة بين المجموعتين وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين المجموعة أ والمجموعة ب بعد أسبوعين وأربعة أسابيع من العلاج (القيمه الاحتماليه =0.001 و القيمه الاحتماليه =0.001) . هذه الزياده الملحوظه كانت لصالح المجموعة أ (مجموعة الدراسة). يُعد التطبيق المبكر للعلاج الضوئي الحيوي وسيلة فعالة في تحسين الألم ومدى الحركة بعد إصلاح وتر العضلة القابضة. |
