| Summary, etc. | Background: Post-abdominal surgery patients often experience decreased mobility, which necessitates precise evaluation tools. The De Morton Mobility Index (DEMMI) is a well-regarded scale for assessing various aspects of mobility. Although validated in several languages, no Arabic version has been reported to date. Purpose: This study aimed to test face and content validity, feasibility, internal consistency and Test-retest reliability of the Arabic translated version of De Morton mobility index after abdominal surgeries. Methods: The study was conducted in two main steps, as follows: Step 1: The DEMMI was translated from English to Arabic (examining both forward as well as backward translations). The final version underwent rigorous evaluation by experts to assess its face and content correctness, as well as its authentication. Step 2: The assessment of its psychometric properties was conducted on 103 patients of both sexes (41 males and 62 females) after abdominal surgeries. Their ages were between 40 and 60 years old. Feasibility was assessed by measuring the time spent filling out the scale. Internal consistency and Test-retest reliability were also used to assess the reliability. Patients were asked to complete the index in the first day after surgery after withdrawing the effect of anesthesia and is able to move, and they were also asked to re–fill it in the second day to ensure Test-retest reliability. Results: The Arabic DEMMI demonstrated exceptional face validity, with a clarity index of 96.76% and an average response clarity of 90%. Content validity was high, with an S-CVI value of 0.98. Reliability testing indicated Cronbach’s alpha of 0.903, signifying excellent internal consistency. Test-retest reliability was robust, with the overall Interclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) at 0.968 ranged from (0.800-0.978) with (95% confidence interval (CI): 0.953–0.979). Conclusion: The Arabic De Morton Mobility Index is a reliable, valid, and user-friendly instrument for assessing mobility impairments in patients recovering from abdominal surgeries. |

| Summary, etc. | معلومات أساسية: المرضي بعد جراحات البطن معرضون بشكل كبير لعدم القدرة على الحركة. يقيم مؤشر دي مورتون للتنقل القدرة على التنقل والحركة في هؤلاء المرضي. وقد ترجم هذا المقياس وتم التصديق عليه بعدة لغات، ولكن لا توجد تقارير منشورة باللغة العربية. الغرض: كان الغرض من هذه الرسالة إلى اختبار صلاحية الشكل والمحتوى، والجدوى، والتناسق الداخلي، وموثوقية الاختبار وإعادة الاختبار لنسخة اللغة العربية المترجمة من مؤشر دي مورتون للتنقل مع المرضى الناطقين باللغة العربية بعد جراحات البطن. الأساليب: نفذت الدراسة في خطوتين أساسيتين، على النحو التالي: الخطوة الاولي: تمت ترجمة المؤشر من الإنجليزية الي العربية وتخضع الصيغة النهائية لتقييم دقيق من جانب خبراء لتقييم صحتها من حيث الوجه والمضمون، فضلا عن توثيقها. الخطوة الثانية: اجري تقييم التحليل الاحصائي على ۱۰۳من المرضي الذكور والاناث بعد جراحات البطن. وكانت أعمارهم تتراوح بين ٤۰و٦۰ سنة. وجري تقييم الجدوى بقياس الوقت المستغرق في ملئ المؤشر. كما استخدم الاتساق الداخلي وموثوقية الاختبار لتقييم المصداقية. طُلب من المرضى إكمال المؤشر في اليوم الأول بعد الجراحة بعد سحب تأثير التخدير وكونهم قادرين على الحركة، كما طُلب منهم أيضاً إعادة تعبئته في اليوم الثاني لضمان موثوقية الاختبار وإعادة الاختبار. النتائج: كان لمؤشر دي مورتون للتنقل قيمة وجهية ممتازة، حيث بلغت درجة وضوح المقياس٩٦٫٧٦ في المئة ونسبة متوسطة من الردود الواضحة ٩۰ في المئة، وبالإضافة الي ذلك تبين ان متوسط نسبة الردود ذات الصلة بلغت ٩٨في المئة. وعلاوة على ذلك، اثبت المقياس صدق محتوي ممتاز، حيث بلغت قيمته ۰٫٩٨وقد اظهر معامل الفا كرونباخ قدر ۰٫٩۰٣، مما يشير الي درجة عالية من الاتساق الداخلي والمصداقية الجيدة في إعادة اختبار المقياس في جميع الأسئلة. حيث تراوحت نسبة الثقة بين ٩٥ في المئة من۰٫٩٥٣ الي۰٫٩٧٩ الاستنتاج: ان النسخة العربية لمؤشر دي مورتون هو أداة موثوقة وصالحة وسهلة الاستخدام، وأداة صالحة لتقييم إعاقات الحركة في المرضي بعد جراحات البطن. |
