Summary, etc.	Background: Smartphone addiction has emerged as a significant public health concern among young adults, characterized by excessive screen time and repetitive hand movements. Prolonged usage may impair wrist proprioception (the body's ability to sense joint position and movement), potentially leading to musculoskeletal disorders. Purpose: This study to investigate the correlation between smartphone addiction and wrist proprioception, pain and function in undergraduate physical therapy students Cairo university. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 111 participants (mean age 20.05±1.44 years, BMI 24.74±3.71 kg/m², daily usage 7.22±1.76 hours). Smartphone addiction was determined using the Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version (SAS-SV), a validated 10-item Likert scale with gender-specific cut off values (male≥31, female≥33). Wrist proprioception was measured using Kinovea software program through active joint position sense testing. Participants performed three trials of 30° wrist extension from neutral position (elbow 90° flexed, vision occluded), with absolute and relative angular errors were recorded. Pain and function were measured via Patient-Rated Wrist Hand Evaluation (PRWHE). Results: Analysis revealed a non-significant weak negative correlation between smartphone addiction and proprioception (r=-0.012, p=0.904). However, significant positive correlations emerged between addiction scores and both pain (r=0.312, p=0.001) and functional limitations (r=0.197, p=0.038). Conclusion: While no direct link was found between smartphone addiction and proprioceptive deficits, the study demonstrates meaningful correlation with increased wrist pain and reduced function. These findings suggest that excessive smartphone use may contribute to musculoskeletal discomfort independent of proprioception changes. Future research should investigate longitudinal effects and potential moderating factors like ergonomic practices to develop targeted interventions for this vulnerable population.

Summary, etc.	الخلفية: أصبح إدمان الهواتف الذكية مصدر قلق صحي عام كبير بين الشباب، وذلك بسبب الاستخدام المفرط للشاشات والحركات المتكررة لليد. قد يؤدي الاستخدام المطول للهواتف إلى ضعف الإحساس الحركي (القدرة على تحديد وضعية المفصل وحركته)، مما قد يتسبب في اضطرابات عضلية هيكلية.<br/>الهدف: هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل العلاقة بين إدمان الهواتف الذكية والإحساس الداخلى لمفصل الرسغ لدى طلاب المرحلة الجامعية بكلية العلاج الطبيعى جامعة القاهرة، مع تقييم الارتباطات المحتملة مع ألم الرسغ والقيود الوظيفية.<br/>المنهجية: أجريت هذه الدراسة على 111 مشاركًا (متوسط العمر 20.05±1.44 سنة، مؤشر كتلة الجسم 24.74±3.71 كجم/م²، متوسط الاستخدام اليومي 7.22±1.76 ساعة). تم تقييم إدمان الهواتف باستخدام مقياس الإدمان المختصر للهواتف الذكية (SAS-SV)، وهو استبيان ليكرت المكون من 10 بنود بحدود قطع مختلفة حسب الجنس (31≤ للذكور، 33≤ للإناث). تم تقييم الإحساس الحركي لليد باستخدام برنامج Kinovea من خلال اختبار تحديد وضعية المفصل النشط، حيث قام المشاركون بثني الرسغ بزاوية 30 درجة من الوضع المحايد (الكوع مثني بزاوية 90 درجة، مع منع الرؤية)، مع تسجيل الخطأ الزاوي المطلق والنسبي. كما تم تقييم الألم والوظيفة باستخدام (PRWHE)..<br/>النتائج: كشفت التحليلات عن:<br/>ارتباط ضعيف غير ذو دلالة إحصائية بين إدمان الهواتف والإحساس الحركيr=-0.012 /p=0.904 <br/>ارتباط إيجابي متوسط الدلالة بين إدمان الهواتف وألم الرسغ 0.001 = p ،0.312 r=<br/>ارتباط إيجابي ضعيف الدلالة بين إدمان الهواتف والقيود الوظيفية 0.038 = p ،0.197 r=<br/>الاستنتاج: رغم عدم وجود علاقة مباشرة بين إدمان الهواتف وضعف الإحساس الحركي، إلا أن الدراسة أظهرت ارتباطات مهمة مع زيادة ألم الرسغ وضعف الوظيفة. تشير هذه النتائج إلى أن الاستخدام المفرط للهواتف قد يساهم في حدوث آلام عضلية هيكلية بغض النظر عن التغيرات في الإحساس الحركي. يجب على الدراسات المستقبلية تحليل الآثار طويلة المدى وعوامل التعديل المحتملة مثل الممارسات المريحة لتطوير تدخلات مستهدفة لهذه الفئة.
