Summary, etc.	Background: Low back pain (LBP) is a common issue among dentists due to <br/>prolonged and static working postures. Studies suggest that both obesity and years of <br/>professional experience may increase the risk of developing such pain. However, <br/>further research is needed to better understand the impact of these factors on dentists' <br/>health and work quality. Purpose: The purpose of the study was to investigate the <br/>effect of obesity and years of experience on low back pain and work quality among <br/>dentists. Subject and Methods: The study included 105 dentists (77 females and 28 <br/>males), aged between 25 and 50 years. They were randomly divided into three <br/>subgroups based on Body Mass Index (BMI): normal BMI (18–25). Dentists who <br/>are overweight (BMI 25–30). Dentists with obesity (BMI 30– 40). Participants were <br/>also classified according to years of experience into three subgroups: 1 to 5 years / 5 <br/>to 01 years / More than 10 years. Outcomes: Low back pain and related outcomes <br/>were assessed using the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), the Visual Analogue Scale <br/>(VAS) for pain intensity and the Work Ability Index (WAI) to evaluate work <br/>performance and capacity. Results: The mean ± SD VAS score was 5.03 ± 2.17, <br/>with 25.7% reporting mild pain, 46.7% moderate pain, and 27.6% severe pain (p = <br/>0.02). The mean ± SD ODI was 16.19 ± 11.22, with 70.48% having minimal <br/>disability, 27.62% moderate disability, and 0.95% each with severe disability and <br/>crippling back pain (p = 0.03). There was a weak positive significant correlation <br/>between BMI with VAS and ODI. However, BMI was not significantly correlated <br/>with WAI (p = 0.93). Years of experience showed no significant correlation with <br/>VAS, ODI, or WAI (p = 0.99, p = 0.92 and p = 0.66 respectively). Conclusion: The <br/>results of this study indicated that both obesity and years of professional experience <br/>play a significant role in increasing the risk of low back pain among dentists. These <br/>factors negatively affect functional ability and overall work performance. Dentists <br/>with higher BMI and longer years of practice were more likely to experience low <br/>back pain and disability.

Summary, etc.	الخلفية: تعد آلام أسفل الظهر مشكلة شائعة بين أطباء الأسنان بسبب الوضعيات الثابتة والطويلة أثناء العمل. الدراسات تشير إلى أن السمنة وعدد سنوات الخبرة قد يزيدان من خطر الإصابة بهذه الآلام. رغم ذلك، هناك حاجة لمزيد من الأبحاث لفهم تأثير هذه العوامل على صحة أطباء الأسنان وجودة عملهم. الهدف من البحث: أجريت هذه الدراسة لفحص تأثير كل من السمنة وعدد سنوات الخبرة على آلام أسفل الظهر وجودة العمل لدى أطباء الأسنان. المرضى ووسائل البحث: اشترك في الدراسة 105طبيب أسنان تتراوح أعمارهم بين 25 و50 عامًا من كلا الجنسين (77 رجال / 28 نساء)، تم توزيعهم عشوائيًا إلى ثلاث مجموعات متساوية (35 مشاركًا في كل مجموعة) بناءً على مؤشر كتلة الجسم:<br/>• أطباء بأسنان ذوي مؤشر كتلة جسم طبيعي (18– 25).<br/>• أطباء أسنان يعانون من زيادة في الوزن (25–30).<br/>• أطباء أسنان يعانون من السمنة (30–40).<br/>كما تم تصنيف المشاركين حسب سنوات الخبرة إلى ثلاث فئات:<br/>• من 1 إلى 5 سنوات خبرة.<br/>• من 5 إلى 10 سنوات خبرة.<br/>• أكثر من 10 سنوات خبرة.<br/>التقييم :تم التقييم عن طريق مؤشر أوسوستري للإعاقة، مقياس الألم البصري ومؤشر القدرة على العمل. النتائج: أشارت النتائج إلى وجودنسبة كبيرة من أطباء الأسنان يعانون من آلام أسفل الظهر بدرجات متفاوتة من الشدة والإعاقة ،مما يشير إلى ألم متوسط في أغلب المشاركين، وكذلك إعاقة طفيفة إلى متوسطة لدىا لغالبية. الاستنتاج: أظهرت هذه الدراسة أن السمنة وعدد سنوات الخبرة المهنية يلعبان دورًا مهمًا في زيادة احتمالية الإصابة بآلام أسفل الظهر لدى أطباء الأسنان، مما يؤثر سلبًا على قدرتهم الوظيفية وجودة أدائهم المهني. وقد تبين أن المشاركين ذوي مؤشر كتلة الجسم المرتفع وسنوات الخبرة الأطول كانوا أكثر عرضة لظهور أعراض الألم والإعاقة حيث تؤكد هذه النتائج أن العوامل المتعلقة بالحالة البدنية والمهنية تشكل مخاطر حقيقية على الصحة العضلية الهيكلية في مهنة طب الأسنان.
