| Summary, etc. | Aim of the study: The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of four-mini-screws supported hyrax for maxillary expansion in early adulthood.<br/>Methodology: The study included adult patients aged 18-30 who presented with posterior crossbite and/or transverse maxillary deficiency. The objective was to evaluate the effectiveness of four mini-screws-supported hybrid hyrax for maxillary expansion in early adulthood.<br/>Results: 10 adult females and 10 males were included in the study and randomized equally to both intervention and untreated control groups. A significant skeletal maxillary expansion was achieved, represented by maxillary width in the experimental (the mean increase was 8.6± 2.3mm). A significant increase in the nasal cavity width (the mean increase was 5.1± 1.9mm). A significant increase in inter-molar distance and inter-canine width (9.6± 3.7 mm,6.7± 2.8 mm respectively). <br/>Conclusions: MARPE is effective in adults with posterior crossbite and or transverse maxillary deficiency (TMD). |

| Summary, etc. | هدف الدراسة: هدفت الدراسة إلى تقييم مدى فعالية الجهاز الموسع(الهايركس) رباعي الزريعات التقويمية لتوسيع الفك العلوي في المرضى البالغين <br/>الطرق: تم تضمين المرضى البالغين الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين 18-30 سنة والذين يشكون من تضيق الفك العلوي. كان الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو تقييم فعالية الجهاز المسع رباعي الزريعات التقويمية(الهايركس)<br/>النتائج: تم تضمين 10 إناث و10 ذكور بالغين في الدراسة وتم اختيارهم بصورة عشوائية بالتساوي لكل من مجموعات التدخل ومجموعات المراقبة غير المعالجة. تم تحقيق توسع كبير في الفك العلوي العظمي متوسط الزيادة 8.6 ± 2.3 ملم). <br/>بالإضافة لزيادة كبيرة في عرض تجويف الأنف مما يعزز تدفق الهواء ويزيد من حجم مجرى الهواء الأنفي (متوسط الزيادة كان 5.1 ± 1.9 ملم).<br/> زيادة كبيرة في المسافة م بين النابين واضراس الرحي الاول بمسافه تقدر 9.6 ± 3.7 ملم، 6.7 ± 2.8 ملم على التوالي<br/>الاستنتاجات: <br/>هذا الجهاز فعال في الحالات التي تعاني من تضييق في الفك العلوي، مما يؤدي إلى تحسينات ملحوظة في الخصائص السريرية والشعاعية. |
