Summary, etc.	The current research was conducted at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University, and Animal Reproduction Research Institiute, Egypt, from September 2022 to January 2024. The study involved 12 sexually mature Egyptian baladi male dogs, aged 2-4 years and weighing 20-25 Kg. The study comprised three separate experiments, each investigating different treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). In experiments, the dogs were divided into two groups: a control group (n=3), which maintained a consistent diet throughout the study, and a BPH group (n=9). In the latter group, BPH was induced in all dogs. Thereafter, they were classified into 3 groups (3 dogs in each one) and each group received different treatment. In the first experiment. The BPH-affected dogs (n=3) were administered 600 mg of pumpkinseed oil orally (pepon®: 2 capsules, MEPACO) for 30 days. In the second experiment, the BPH-affected dogs (n=3) received 50 mg/dog/day of nanoparticles of lemongrass oil (EMLN-10®) subcutaneously for 30 days. In the third experiment, the BPH-affected dogs (n=3) were treated with 100 mg of Pygeum africanum extract orally (Prostacure®: 2 capsules daily for 30 days, OCTOBER PHARMA S. A. E.). Results showed that the BPH-affected group had significantly (P<0.05) higher measurements in prostatic volume compared to the treated and control groups. PI, PSV, and EDV were significantly (P<0.05) higher in the BPH group compared to the treated and control groups. PSA showed a statistically significant (P<0.05) increase in the BPH diseased group compared to the control group and decreased significantly in the the treated group, with no significant change in the testosterone level. Further studies are required to assass their effect on BPH.

Summary, etc.	تم إجراء البحث في كلية الطب البيطري جامعة القاهرة و معهد بحوث التناسليات الحيوانية ، مصر، خلال الفترة من سبتمبر 2022 إلى يناير 2024. شملت الدراسة 12 ذكر من الكلاب ناضجين جنسياً تتراوح أعماهرهم بين 2-4 سنوات ، ووزنهم بين 20-25 كيلوجرام. تضمنت الدراسة ثلاثة تجارب منفصلة ، كل منها يستهدف علاجات مختلفة لتضخم البروستاتا الحميد. في جميع التجارب تم تقسم الكلاب إلى مجموعتين : مجموعة التجكم وعددها ثلاتة في كل تجربة والتي حافظت على نظام غذائي ثابت طول فترة الدراسة ، ومجموعة تضخم البروستاتا الحميد وعددها ثلاثة في كل تجربة ، التي خضعت لتحفيز تضخم البروستاتا الحميد من ثم العلاج. في التجبة الأولى تم علاج الكلاب المصابة بتضخم البروستاتا الحميد بإعطائها 600 مجم/ كلب/ يوم من زيت بذور اليقطين يومياً لمدة 30 يوم. في التجربة الثانية تم إعطاء الكلاب المصابة بتضخم البروستاتا الحميد 50 مجم من زيت حشيشةالليمون النانوية تحت الجلد لمدة 30 يوم. في التجربة الثالثة تم علاج الكلاب المصابة بتضخم البروستاتا الحميد بإعطائها مستخلص البيرجيوم الأفريقي بجرعة 100 مجم عن طريق الفم (كبسولتان يومياً) لمدة شهر. أظهرت النتائج أن المجموعة المصابة بتضخم البروستاتا الحميد سجلت زيادة ملحوظة في حجم البروستاتا مقارنة بالمجموعتين المعالجة والضابطة. كما كانت قيم مؤشر النبض و سرعة الذروة الانقباضية و سرعة الانبساط أعلى بشكل ملحوظ في مجموعة تضخم البروستاتا الحميد مقانة بالمجموعتين المعالجة و الضابطة. كذلك أظهر مستوى المستضاد البروستاتي النوعي ارتفاعاً ملحوظ في مجموعة تضخم البروستاتا الحميد مقارنة بالمجموعة الضابطة ولكنه ولكنه انخفض بشكل ملحوظ في المجموعات المعالجة دون حدوث تغيير معنوي في مستوى هرمون التستوستيرون. هناك حاجة لمزيد من الدراسات لتقييم اأثير هذه العلاجات على تضخم البروستاتا الحميد.
