| Summary, etc. | This thesis presents a comparative study of the different lateral-load resisting systems <br/>defined in the ECP201-2012, Eurocode 8, and ASCE7-22). The aim is to provide a <br/>detailed comparison between the different lateral-load resisting systems and their <br/>equivalents in all three codes, as well as a detailed comparison of the systems within <br/>each code. 3-D finite element analytical models were performed. The results validate <br/>the comparison between the three codes. the ECP201-2012 relies on seismic loading <br/>information from the other two codes, and the wind load application varies across the <br/>three codes. The study highlights several key factors that significantly influence the <br/>selection of a lateral-load-resisting system. Eurocode8 provides more robust <br/>conservatively designed structures with higher costs in all systems compared to the <br/>other two codes. ASCE7-22 offers the most flexible and economically viable structures <br/>that meet code compliance requirements. ECP201-2012 offers a middle ground <br/>between Euocode8 and ASCE7-22, with a cost that may fall between them. |

| Summary, etc. | تقدم هذه الرسالة دراسة مقارنة للأنظمة المختلفة المقاومة للأحمال الجانبية المذكورة في الكود المصري والكود الأوروبي والكود الأمريكي. الهدف من الرسالة هو توفير مقارنة مفصلة بين الأنظمة المختلفة المقاومة للأحمال الجانبية وما يناظرها في الاكواد الثلاثة، بالإضافة إلى مقارنة مفصلة للأنظمة المذكورة في كل كود منفصلا. تم إجراء نماذج تحليلية ثلاثية الأبعاد وتثبت النتائج صحة المقارنة بين الأكواد الثلاثة. يعتمد الكود المصري علي معلومات التحميل الزلزالي من الكود الأوروبي والكود الأمريكي، ويختلف تطبيق حمل الرياح عبر الأكواد الثلاثة. يوفر الكود الأوروبي مباني مصممة بشكل أكثر متانة ومحافظة مع تكاليف أعلي في جميع الأنظمة مقارنة بالأكواد الأخرى. يوفر الكود الأمريكي الهياكل الأكثر مرونة وقابلية للتطبيق اقتصاديا والتي تلبي متطلبات الكود. يقدم الكود المصري أرضية مشتركة بين الكود الأوروبي والكود الأمريكي، مع تكلفة تقع بينهما. |
