| Summary, etc. | Background: Smartphone addiction has become a major psycho-social issue, contributing to an increase in De Quervain's disease, which leads to pain and strain in the wrist redial side near the redial styloid, impacting both individuals and organizations. Aim of the study: To investigate the prevalence of De Quervain's Tenosynovitis among medical students with smartphone addiction at Cairo University (MWSPACU). Materials and Methods: A total of 180 Egyptian medical students with smartphone addiction at Cairo University of both genders was participated in this study using the smartphone addiction scale, Finkelstein test used to assist De quervain`s syndrome , pinch dynamometer used to assist three types of pinches strength , and grip dynamometer used to assist the grip strength. Results: The prevalence of De Quervain's Tenosynovitis syndrome among Egyptian medical students with smartphone addiction was 35.6% in the dominant hand and 16.7% in the non-dominant hand. There was a significant decrease in pinch and grip strength among participants with De Quervain's Tenosynovitis compared to healthy participants. Conclusion: De Quervain's Tenosynovitis is prevalent among medical students with smartphone addiction, particularly in the dominant hand. The study highlighted the need for preventive measures and awareness regarding the musculoskeletal risks associated with excessive smartphone use. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: متلازمة التهاب غمد الوتر هي حالة مرضية تصيب الأوتار في منطقة الرسغ والإبهام، وتحدث غالبًا بسبب الحركات المتكررة، مثل الاستخدام المفرط للهواتف الذكية. تعتبر هذه المتلازمة من المشكلات الصحية الشائعة بين الطلاب، خاصة في ظل زيادة الاعتماد على الأجهزة الذكية في الحياة اليومية والأكاديمية. <br/>غرض البحث: هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التحقق من انتشار متلازمة التهاب غمد الوتر بين طلاب كلية الطب الطب المصريين المدمنين على الهواتف الذكية<br/> المواد والطرق: شارك في الدراسة 180 طالبًا وطالبة من الكليات الطبيه بجامعة القاهرة. تم استخدام مقياس إدمان الهواتف الذكية (SAS)، اختبار فينكلستين لتقييم متلازمه التهاب غمد الوتر، ومقياس قوة القبضة لقياس قوه القبضة والقرص لقياس قوه الثلاث أنواع من القرص لتقييم انتشار المتلازمة. تم جمع البيانات خلال الفترة من ديسمبر 2024 إلى يناير 2025.<br/> النتائج: أظهرت النتائج أن انتشار متلازمة غمد الوتر كان 35.6% في اليد المهيمنة و 16.7% في اليد غير المهيمنة بين الطلاب المدمنين على الهواتف الذكية. كما لوحظ انخفاض كبير في قوة القبضة والقرص لدى الطلاب الذين يعانون من المتلازمة مقارنة بالطلاب الأصحاء. لم تظهر الدراسة فروقًا ذات دلالة إحصائية في انتشار المتلازمة بناءً على العمر، الجنس، أو الكلية، ولكن كان هناك ارتباط كبير بين استخدام الهاتف الذكي لأنشطة التواصل الاجتماعي وزيادة خطر الإصابة بالمتلازمة. <br/>الخلاصة: يجب أخذ متلازمة غمد الوتر بعين الاعتبار بين طلاب الكليات الطبيه الذين يعانون من إدمان الهواتف الذكية، خاصة في ظل انتشارها المرتفع في اليد المهيمنة. تعتبر التوعية بأساليب الاستخدام الصحي للهواتف الذكية، وتشجيع النشاط البدني، وتقليل الاعتماد على الأجهزة الذكية من الإجراءات الوقائية المهمة للحد من هذه المشكلة. |
