| Summary, etc. | Background Forward head posture (FHP) is a common postural malalignment in young population that is associated with limitation of mobility and functional disability. Kendall Exercises are one of the commonly used postural correction techniques to treat FHP. Global Postural reeducation (GPR) is a postural correction exercise commonly used for musculoskeletal disorders. Objective The current study aimed to investigate the combined effect of GPR and Kendall Exercises in the treatment of FHP. Methods Forty-three subjects aged 18-30 years were recruited with FHP marked by a craniovertebral angle (CVA) less than 50°. Participants were randomly allocated into two groups: group A (GrA) received GPR plus Kendall Exercises, and group B (GrB) received Kendall Exercises only. Variables were measured before and immediately after 12 sessions of treatment including CVA, Gaze Angle (GA), Shoulder Angle (SA), Cervical Range of Motion (CROM), Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Neck Disability Index (NDI). Results Between groups analysis revealed no statistically significant difference between either treatment in CVA, CROM, VAS and NDI. Within-group analysis revealed that both interventions were statistically significant in improving CVA, CROM, VAS and NDI (P<0.05). Both treatments showed no statistical difference in GA and SA. Conclusions The added effect GPR technique to Kendall Exercises significantly improved CVA, CROM, VAS and NDI in subjects with FHP. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: وضعية الرأس الأمامية هي خلل شائع في وضعية الجسم لدى الشباب الذي يرتبط بتقييد الحركة والإعاقة الوظيفية. تُعد تمارين كيندال هي واحدة من التقنيات الشائعة الاستخدام وضع الرقبة الأمامي. إعادة التعليم الوضعي الشامل هي تمارين لتصحيح القوام المستخدمة عادة لاضطرابات الجهاز العضلي الهيكلي. الغرض: هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى التحقيق في تأثير إعادة التعليم الوضعي الشامل في علاج وضع الرقبة الأمامي. الطريقة تم تجنيد ثلاثة وأربعين شخصًا تتراوح أعمارهم بين ١٨ و٣٠عامًا من لديهم زاوية قحفية فقرية أقل من ٥٠ درجة. تم توزيع المشاركين عشوائيًا على مجموعتين: المجموعة (أ) تلقت إعادة تعليم الوضعي الشامل بالإضافة إلى تمارين كيندال، والمجموعة (ب) تلقت تمارين كيندال فقط. تم قياس المتغيرات قبل وبعد ١٢ جلسة علاجيه مباشرة، بما في ذلك زاوية القحف الفقري وزاوية النظر وزاوية الكتف ونطاق حركة عنق العنق ومقياس التناظر البصري ومؤشر إعاقة الرقبة. النتائج: كشف التحليل بين المجموعات عن عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين أي من العلاجين في زاوية القحف الفقري ونطاق حركة العنق ومقياس التناظر البصري ومؤشر إعاقة الرقبة. كشف التحليل داخل المجموعة أن كلا العلاجين كان لهما دلالة إحصائية في تحسين زاوية القحف الفقري ونطاق حركة العنق ومقياس التناظر البصري ومؤشر إعاقة الرقبة (قيمة الاحتمال أقل من ٠٬٠٥). لم يظهر كلا العلاجين أي فرق إحصائي في زاوية النظر وزاوية الكتف. الخلاصة: أدت تقنية إعادة التعليم الوضعي الشامل إلى تحسين زاوية القحف الفقري ونطاق حركة العنق ومقياس التناظر البصري ومؤشر إعاقة الرقبة بشكل ملحوظ في الأشخاص المصابين بـوضع الرقبة الأمامي. |
