Summary, etc.	Background: Carpal tunnel syndrome is an entrapment neuropathy <br/>caused by compression of the median nerve as it travels through the wrist's <br/>carpal tunnel. Purpose: To investigate the influence of low intensity pulsed <br/>ultrasound on enhancing biostimulation of median nerve in patients with <br/>chronic carpal tunnel syndrome. Study Design: pretest posttest single <br/>blinded randomized control trial. Materials and methods: Fifty-two <br/>patients with chronic carpal tunnel syndrome from both sexes were <br/>involved, aged between 30– 50 years. They were divided into two equal <br/>groups, twenty-six patients each. Patients in the experimental group <br/>received a low intensity pulsed ultrasound in addition to a conventional <br/>physical therapy program. Patients in the control group received <br/>conventional physical therapy program only in the form of therapeutic <br/>exercises and splinting. Training was done three times a week for four <br/>weeks. Pain intensity, distal sensory and motor latency of median nerve, <br/>pinch grip strength and hand function were measured before and after <br/>treatment. Results: There were significant differences within the two <br/>groups before and after treatment and between the two groups after <br/>treatment in Pain level, distal sensory and motor latency, pinch grip <br/>strength and functional performance. Conclusion: Low intensity pulsed <br/>ultrasound proved to be beneficial in improving perceived wrist pain, <br/>sensory and motor distal latency of median nerve, pinch grip strength and <br/>functional performance in patients with chronic carpal tunnel syndrome.

Summary, etc.	الخلفية متلازمة النفق الرسغي هي إعتلال عصبي في العصب الأوسط عند الرسغ وتعد واحدة من أكثر أمراض الاعصاب الطرفية شيوعا .الهدف من الدراسة فحص فاعلية الموجات فوق الصوتية منخفضة الشدة المتقطعة على تعزيز التحفيز الحيوي للعصب الأوسط في مرضى متلازمة النفق الرسغي المزمن الخفيف الي المتوسط. تصميم الدراسة دراسة عشوائية مضبوطة أحادية التعمية. الطرق والاساليب تم تقسيم اثنين وخمسين مريضا يعانون من متلازمة النفق الرسغي المزمن الخفيف الي المعتدل بشكل عشوائي الى مجموعتين متساويتين تلقت المجموعة التجريبية الموجات فوق الصوتية منخفضة الشدة المتقطعة بالإضافة الي العلاج الطبيعي التقليدي بينما تلقت المجموعة الضابطة نفس العلاج الطبيعي التقليدي فقط في صورة جبيرة الرسغ وتمرينات إنزلاق الأعصاب والأوتار.تم عمل جلسات العلاج ثلاث مرات اسبوعيا لمدة أربعة اسابيع. تم اجراء القياسات لمقارنة نتائج ما قبل العلاج وبعده وشملت تقييم الألم عن طريق مقياس الألم التناظري البصري وقياس الكمون العصبي الحسي والحركي للعصب الأوسط باستخدام التخطيط الكهربي للعصب الأوسط وقوة قبض الأصابع بواسطة المقياس الديناميكي والأداء الوظيفي لليد باستخدام النسخة العربية من استبيان بوسطن. النتائج كان هناك انخفاض ذا دلالة إحصائية في مقياس الألم التناظري البصري و الكمون الحسي والحركي للعصب الأوسط واستبيان بوسطن وزيادة ذات دلالة إحصائية في قوة قبض الأصابع بغد العلاج في المجموعتين وقد اظهر التحليل بين المجموعتين اختلافا ذا دلالة إحصائية في جميع القياسات بعد العلاج لصالح المجموعة التجريبية .الخلاصة الموجات فوق الصوتية منخفضة الشدة المتقطعة لها تأثير كبير في تسكين الألم وتحسين الكمون العصبي الحسي والحركي للعصب الأوسط وتحسين قوة قبض الأصابع وتحسين الحالة الوظيفية لليد في المرضي اللذين يعانون من متلازمة النفق الرسغي المزمن لذا ينصح باستخدام هذه الوسيلة في برنامج إعادة تأهيل مرضي متلازمة النفق الرسغي
