Summary, etc.	Background: A planter calcaneal spur (PCS) is an atypical osseous projection <br/>located at the inferior aspect of the calcaneus. Plantar calcaneal spurs can alter <br/>natural posture and may lead to complications such as back pain. Increased pain <br/>correlates with elevated proprioceptive inaccuracies and diminished balance and <br/>functional mobility. Purpose: To compare balance and proprioception between <br/>individuals with PCS and age-matched controls. Methods: A cross-sectional study <br/>conducted at the outpatient clinic of the Faculty of Physical Therapy at Cairo <br/>University included 46 participants of both sexes, divided into two groups: 23 <br/>patients with PCS(experimental group),23 healthy asymptomatic <br/>individuals(control group).Static balance was assessed trough a single-leg stance <br/>balance test (SLS), dynamic balance was assessed through the Biodex balancing <br/>system, foot function was quantified by the foot pain index, and proprioception was <br/>tested with the ankle active reposition test employing a digital inclinometer. <br/>Results: There was a statistically significant difference in static balance test during <br/>open eyes between both groups (P= 0.005), which indicated that experimental group <br/>(group B) scored lower than control group(group A). There was a statistically <br/>significant difference in dynamic balance regarding :overall stability index <br/>score,anteroposterior(AP) and mediolateral(ML) stability index score between both <br/>groups (P≤0.05), which indicated that experimental group (group B) scored higher <br/>than control group(group A).There was a statistically significant difference in pain, <br/>disability and activity limitation score among the two groups (P≤0.05), which <br/>indicates that experimental group scored higher than control group. Conclusion: <br/>According to the experimental, as compared to healthy, normal persons, patients <br/>with calcaneal spur and plantar fasciitis had considerably worse static and dynamic <br/>balance, foot pain, and functional performance.

Summary, etc.	خلفية: نتوء الكعب الأخمصي هو بروز عظمي غير نمطي يقع في الجانب السفلي من العقب. يمكن أن تؤدي نتوءات الكعب إلى تغيير الوضعية الطبيعية وقد تؤدي إلى مضاعفات مثل آلام الظهر. الألم المتزايد يرتبط بزيادة الأخطاء الحسية الحركية وانخفاض التوازن والحركية الوظيفية. الغرض: مقارنة التوازن والإحساس بالموضع بين الأفراد الذين يعانون من الشوكه العظميه والأشخاص الأصحاء المتطابقين في العمر. الطرق: أُجري بحث مقطعي في عيادة خارجية بكلية العلاج الطبيعي بجامعة القاهرة شمل ٤٦ مشاركًا من كلا الجنسين، مقسمين إلى مجموعتين: ٢٣ مريضًا يعانون من متلازمة الألم العضلي الليفي، و٢٣ فردًا صحيًا بدون أعراض. تم تقييم التوازن الثابت من خلال اختبار توازن الوقوف على ساق واحدة، وتم تقييم التوازن الديناميكي من خلال نظام التوازن بيو ديكس، وتم قياس وظيفة القدم بواسطة مؤشر ألم القدم، وتم اختبار الإحساس العميق باستخدام اختبار إعادة الوضع النشط للكاحل باستخدام مقياس ميل رقمي. النتائج: كان هناك فرق ذو دلالة إحصائية في اختبار التوازن الثابت أثناء فتح العينين بين المجموعتين (P= 0.005)، مما يشير إلى أن المجموعة التجريبية (المجموعة ب) حصلت على درجات أقل من المجموعة الضابطة (المجموعة أ). كان هناك فرق ذو دلالة إحصائية في التوازن الديناميكي فيما يتعلق بمؤشر الاستقرار العام، ومؤشر الاستقرار الأمامي الخلفي ومؤشر الاستقرار الجانبي بين المجموعتين (P≤0.05)، مما يشير إلى أن المجموعة التجريبية حققت درجات أعلى من المجموعة الضابطة. كان هناك فرق ذو دلالة إحصائية في درجات الألم والعجز وقيود النشاط بين المجموعتين (P≤0.05)، مما يشير إلى أن المجموعة التجريبية حصلت على درجات أعلى من المجموعة الضابطة. الخاتمة: وفقًا للدراسة، مقارنة بالأشخاص الأصحاء والطبيعيين، كان لدى المرضى الذين يعانون من نتوء الكعب والتهاب اللفافة الأخمصية توازن ثابت وديناميكي أسوأ بشكل ملحوظ، وألم في القدم، وأداء وظيفي أقل
