| Summary, etc. | Background: Bronchial asthma is a major global health concern among children. It poses a significant global public challenge. Objective: The goal of the study was to investigate the relationship of pulmonary functions in children with bronchial asthma with both muscle endurance and functional capacity. Methods: This cross-sectional study involved sixty-four pediatric patients diagnosed with bronchial asthma, aged from 8 to 10 years old from both sexes. They had a predicted forced expiratory volume/forced vital capacity (FEV1/FVC) ranged from ≤60 to ≥80%, and peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) ranged from 20% to >30%, according to Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) guidelines. They were evaluated and diagnosed by using spirometer, pulmonary functions (vital capacity (VC), peak expiratory flow (PEF), forced expiratory volume (FEV1), forced expiratory flow rate/ forced vital capacity (FEV1/FVC), cervical flexors muscle endurance, and functional capacity were assessed by using spirometry, pressure biofeedback, and 6 minute walk test respectively. Results: The findings demonstrated a statistical significant positive strong correlation of pulmonary functions (VC, PEF, FEV1 and FEV1/FVC), with muscle endurance and functional capacity these correlations were statistically significant. Conclusion: Pulmonary functions are associated with endurance of cervical flexors and functional capacity in pediatric patients with bronchial asthma. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: يُعد الربو القصبي مشكلة صحية عالمية رئيسية بين الأطفال، إذ يمثل تحدياً صحياً كبيراً على مستوى العالم. الهدف: هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تقييم العلاقة بين وظائف الرئه و بين كلا من قدره تحمل عضلات ثني الرقبة العميقة والقدرة الوظيفية لدي الاطفال المصابين بالربو القصبي. الطرق: شملت هذه الدراسة المقطعية أربعة وستين طفلا ًتراوحت أعمارهم من 8 إلى 10 سنوات من الجنسين، كان الاطفال المشاركون في الدراسة الحالية لديهم نسبة الحجم الزفيري القسري المتوقع إلى معدل التدفق الزفيري الأقصى من ≤60% إلى ≥80%، ومعدل التدفق الزفيري الأقصى من 20% إلى أكثر من 30% ، تم تشخيص إصابتهم بالربو القصبي وتقييمهم باستخدام جهاز قياس التنفس. قيمت وظائف الرئة (السعة الحيوية، ذروة تدفق الزفير ، حجم الزفير القسري في ثانية واحدة, تراوح حجم الزفير القسري/السعة الحيوية القسرية)، والتحمل العضلي، والقدرة الوظيفية باستخدام جهاز قياس التنفس، جهاز الارتجاع البيلوجي للضغط، واختبار المشي لمدة 6 دقائق علي التوالي . النتائج: أظهرت النتائج ارتباط قوي إيجابي ذو دلالة إحصائية بين وظائف الرئة ، و قدره تحمل عضلات ثني الرقبة العميقة والقدرة الوظيفية. الاستنتاج: ترتبط وظائف الرئة بقدره تحمل عضلات ثني الرقبة والقدرة الوظيفية لدى الأطفال المصابين بالربو القصبي. |
