| Summary, etc. | A field experiment was conducted in the Ornamental Horticulture Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University during two successive seasons (2016-2017) to study the foliar spray effect of progesterone at 10–6, 10–9 10–12 mM and methyl jasmonate at 0.5, 1 and 2.5mM, and sodium silicate 50, 100 and 150 ppm, on vegetative growth, flowering and chemical composition of Solidago canadensis L. cv. "Tara" plants. Another experiment was conducted during (2021-2022) to investigate the effect of the postharvest treatments on Solidago inflorescences in the laboratories of NRC, Dokki, Giza, Egypt. <br/>Results indicated that all criteria of vegetative growth studied were significantly affected, i.e., plant height, fresh and dry weight of leaves, stem diameter, fresh and dry weight of stem. As well, inflorescence characters, which were expressed as inflorescence length, number of inflorescence, fresh and dry weight of inflorescence, photosynthetic pigments, N%, P%, K% and total carbohydrates were significantly affected by the application of sodium silicate and methyl jasmonate compared with control plants.<br/>Foliar spraying the plants with progesterone at the concentration of 10-12 mM gave the highest values in vegetative growth, chemical constituents, flowering characters as compared to the control plants.<br/>Meanwhile, foliar Spraying with methyl jasmonate at the concentration of 2.5mM obtained the greatest values of vegetative growth, chemical constituents, flowering characters as compared to the control plants.<br/>Whereas, foliar application of sodium silicate at the concentration of 100ppm gave the highest significant increase in vegetative growth, inflorescence characters and chemical constituents as compared with the other treatments and untreated plants in the two seasons of study. <br/>Postharvest treatments applied to Solidago canadensis L. cv. "Tara" cut flowers showed a significant effect on their quality and longevity. The longest vase life was obtained using GA3 or bleach in both years. All used EOs and their mixture, bleach, tween-20, and STS were the most effective treatments in suppressing the growth of microorganism in the vase solution with superiority to the mixture of EOs. |

| Summary, etc. | أجريت التجربة الأولى خلال موسمي الزراعة (2016 و2017) وذلك لدراسة تأثير الرش بالبروجستيرون بتركيز (0 و 10-6 و10- 9و10-12) ملي مول و جاسمونات الميثايل بتركيز (0 و 0,5 و 1 و2,5) ملي مول وسيليكات الصوديوم بتركيز (50 و100 و150 ) جزء في المليون على كل من صفات النمو الخضري والزهري والكيماوي لنباتات السوليداجو كنادينسيس وتم إجراء التجربة الثانية لدراسة تأثير معاملات ما بعد الحصاد على نورات السوليداجو.<br/>أظهرت النتائج المتحصل عليها من هذه الدراسة أن رش نباتات السوليداجو بالبروجيستيرون بتركيزات (0 و 10-6 و10- 9 و10-12) ملي مول أدى إلى زيادة معنوية في طول النبات ، الوزن الطازج والجاف للأوراق، قطر الساق ، الوزن الطازج للساق/نبات ،الوزن الجاف للساق/نبات ، طول النورة، عدد النورات، الوزن الجاف والطازج للنورات محتوى النبات من كلوروفيل ( أ ) والكاروتينيدات بالإضافه إلى محتوى النورات والسيقان والأوراق من الكربوهيدرات في كلا الموسمين. هذا وقد أعطت المعاملة بإستخدام بالبروجيستيرون (10-12) ملي مول إلى الحصول على أعلى زيادة معنوية في جميع الصفات المذكورة مقارنة بالكنترول.<br/>أدت جميع التركيزات المستخدمة من جاسمونات الميثايل ( 0 و 0,5 و 1 و2,5) ملي مول إلى زيادة معنوية في طول النبات، قطر الساق، الوزن الطازج والجاف للساق طول النورة، عدد النورات ، قطر النورة، الوزن الجاف والطازج للنورات،محتوى النبات من الكلوروفيل ( أ ،ب ) ، الكاروتينيدات وكذلك والكربوهيدرات في المجموع الخضري والنورات في كلا الموسمين مقارنة بالكنترول. أعطت المعاملة 2,5 ملي مول أعلى زيادة معنوية في الوزن الجاف للأوراق/نبات.<br/>أعطت المعاملة ب سيليكات الصوديوم بتركيز (50 و100 و150 ) جزء في المليون أعلى القيم المتحصل عليها في الصفات السابق ذكرها. وقد أعطت المعاملة بإستخدام سيليكات الصوديوم بتركيز 100 جزء في المليون أعلى زيادة معنوية في جميع الصفات المذكورة مقارنة بالكنترول.<br/>جميع التركيزات المستخدمة من محاليل الحفظ أدت إلى إطالة فترة بقاء نورات السوليداجو في الفاز. كما أدت المعاملة بإستخدام 25 مل/جم من الجيبريللين الى الحصول على أقل القيم في كل من النسبة المئوية للفقد في الوزن الطازج للنورات ومعدل الفقد اليومي في وزن النورات وكذلك أقل عدد من التجمعات البكتيرية، بالإضافة إلى زيادة مقدار الماء الممتص والمعدل اليومي للماء الممتص. جميع محاليل الحفظ المستخدمة وكذلك الزيوت العطرية عملت على تقليل معدل النمو البكتيري لأعلى درجة في المحاليل |
