| Summary, etc. | Higher education plays a pivotal role in shaping students’ academic, social, and emotional<br/>well-being. Understanding the factors that contribute to students’ happiness and satisfaction with<br/>their academic experience is essential for fostering a supportive and enriching learning<br/>environment. This thesis examines the relationship between the quality of academic life and<br/>subjective happiness among undergraduate students at Cairo University. <br/><br/>By using a comprehensive survey that assesses demographic variables—such as age, gender<br/>academic level, marital status, and field of study—alongside measures of academic satisfaction<br/>and happiness, the study aims to uncover how students' academic experiences influence their<br/>overall well-being in the context of higher education in Egypt. <br/><br/>The findings highlight the significant impact of demographic factors on students' perceptions<br/>of their academic life and happiness. Female students reported slightly higher levels of happiness<br/>and academic satisfaction than male students, while younger students and those in earlier<br/>academic stages showed greater satisfaction. <br/><br/>The study underscores the importance of institutional support services. Access to mental<br/>health resources, academic advising, and extracurricular activities positively correlated with<br/>higher levels of happiness and academic satisfaction. Social integration and supportive campus<br/>environments further enhanced students’ well-being. <br/><br/>The research found that students in the Faculties of Dentistry, Engineering, Media, Medicine<br/>and Physical Therapy reported higher levels of both happiness and academic satisfaction<br/>suggesting that these faculties may provide more supportive environments. In contrast, students<br/>in the Faculties of Veterinary Medicine, Law, Commerce, Agriculture, and Dar Al-Uloom<br/>reported lower levels in both dimensions, indicating potential challenges in these areas. <br/><br/>Based on these findings, the thesis recommends enhancing support services, fostering social<br/>integration, promoting extracurricular engagement, and improving campus facilities. These<br/>actions would not only improve academic performance but also contribute to students’ personal<br/>growth and emotional well-being. |

| Summary, etc. | تتناول هذه الرسالة العلاقة بين جودة الحياة الأكاديمية والسعادة الشخصية لدى طلاب المرحلة الجامعية في جامعة القاهرة. ومن خلال استخدام استبيان شامل يقيس المتغيرات الديموغرافية — بما في ذلك العمر، والجنس، والمستوى الأكاديمي، والحالة الاجتماعية، والتخصص الدراسي — إلى جانب مؤشرات الرضا الأكاديمي والسعادة الذاتية، تهدف الدراسة إلى الكشف عن العلاقة المعقدة بين التجربة الأكاديمية للطلاب ومستوى رفاههم العام في سياق التعليم العالي في مصر.<br/>وقد كشفت نتائج البحث عن عدة نتائج محورية، من أبرزها التأثير الكبير للعوامل الديموغرافية على تصورات الطلاب لجودة حياتهم الأكاديمية وسعادتهم. فقد أظهرت الطالبات مستويات أعلى قليلاً من السعادة الذاتية والرضا عن جودة الحياة الأكاديمية مقارنة بالطلاب الذكور. كما عبّر الطلاب الأصغر سنًا والملتحقون بالمستويات الدراسية المبكرة عن درجات أعلى من الرضا، كما أظهر الطلاب المتزوجون مستويات اعلى من الرضا الأكاديمي والسعادة الشخصية. كذلك، سجّل الطلاب المنتمون إلى لطلاب في كليات مثل طب الأسنان، والهندسة، والإعلام مستويات رضا وسعادة أكبر، مقارنةً بكليات مثل الطب البيطري، والحقوق، ودار العلوم.<br/>كما تؤكد الدراسة على الدور الحاسم لخدمات الدعم المؤسسي، حيث تبيّن أن توافر خدمات الصحة النفسية، والإرشاد الأكاديمي، والفرص اللامنهجية يرتبط ارتباطًا إيجابيًا قويًا بسعادة الطلاب ورضاهم العام عن الحياة الأكاديمية. وقد وُجد أن التكامل الاجتماعي، والبيئة الجامعية الداعمة، وفرص الانخراط خارج القاعات الدراسية تُسهم إسهامًا كبيرًا في تعزيز كل من السعادة الذاتية وجودة الحياة الأكاديمية.<br/>واستنادًا إلى هذه النتائج، تقدم الرسالة مجموعة من التوصيات الهادفة إلى تعزيز جودة حياة الطلاب وسعادتهم، من بينها: توسيع خدمات الدعم الجامعي وتكييفها لتلائم احتياجات الفئات الطلابية المختلفة، وتعزيز التكامل الاجتماعي من خلال برامج الإرشاد والنشاطات المجتمعية، وتشجيع الانخراط في الأنشطة اللامنهجية، وتحسين مرافق الحرم الجامعي، والعمل على خلق ثقافة جامعية داعمة. إذ إن معالجة هذه الجوانب بصورة شمولية لا تسهم فقط في تحسين الأداء الأكاديمي، بل تُعزز أيضًا من النمو الشخصي والصحة النفسية للطلاب.<br/>ومن خلال استكشاف التفاعل بين الحياة الأكاديمية وسعادة الطلاب، تُسهم هذه الدراسة في إثراء الأدبيات المتنامية حول رفاه الطلاب في مؤسسات التعليم العالي، لاسيما في منطقة الشرق الأوسط العربي. وتشكل نتائجها دليلًا إرشاديًا للمعنيين بالتعليم وصانعي السياسات، إذ تقدم استراتيجيات عملية لبناء بيئات أكاديمية ثرية وشاملة وداعمة، توازن بين التفوق الأكاديمي والصحة النفسية. |
