| Summary, etc. | Background: Vestibular Migraine (VM) patients describe the combination of migraine and vestibular symptoms. Manifestations of dizziness have been reported in migrainepatients, such as rotational vertigo, positioning vertigo, intolerance to head movement, and disequilibrium .<br/>Objective:Todescribetheclinicalvestibularprofileofvestibularmigraineandassesscognitive function of Vestibular migraine patients.<br/>Subjects and methods: This study included 106 adults which were divided into 2 groups: the study group consists of 53 adults, suffering from VM and control group which comprised 53 normal adult age and gender matched. All subjects were submitted to full history taking, Basic audiological evaluation, Video-nystagmography (VNG), Caloric Irrigation using water, Cervical vestibular evoked myogenic potentials test (c-VEMP) and Subjective Visual Vertical test (SVV), Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Symbol digits Modality Test (SDMT).<br/>Result: The commonest positive finding in the study group in VNG test were positioning nystagmus which recorded in 34%(18) of cases in Dix-Hallpike position (unilateral and bilateral). The positional nystagmus recorded in 17%(9) of cases as(horizontal nystagmus and vertical, it was direction fixed or changing with changing head position), 15%(7) of cases had unilateral caloric hypofunction. There were statistically significant difference in the mean SVV tilt results at upright position between the two groups (P=0.001). There were statistically significant delayed P13, N23 in latency and amplitude, comparedtotheirnormalcontrols. C-VEMP abnormalityinVM patients reflectingvestibulo- spinal reflex affaction. MMSE and SDMT as cognitive questionnaires showed lower scores copared to their control group which reflect cognitive impairment.<br/>Conclusions: Cervical VEMP was present bilaterally in all our VM patients and showed cVEMP abnormality regarding to latency and amplitude , reflecting vestibulo-spinal reflexaffection.SVVabnormalityreflectingspatialdisorientationandacovertdysfunctionof the otolithic pathway. Cognitive impairment issue based on questionnaire assessments.<br/> |

| Summary, etc. | لقد تم التعرف علي العلاقة بين اضطرابات السمع و الاتزان والصداع النصفي منذ قديم الزمن استقبال<br/>اطباء الاذن واطباء الاعصاب مرضي يقدمون صورة سريرية للصداع الشبية بالصداع النصفي <br/>ونوبات الدوخة والدواروالامتلاء السمعي والاعراض السمعية وطنين الازن لم يتم دراسة المادة <br/>الدهليزية و المعروفة لمرضى VM بشكل جيد ومع ذلك هناك ادلة علي ان مرضي VM قد يعانون من عجز ادراكي<br/>شمات هذة الدراسة 106 بالغين تم تقسيمهم الي مجموعتين مجموعة الحالات تتكون من 53 بالغا<br/>يعانون من VM و المجموعة الطبيعية والتي ضمت 53 بالغا عا ديا في العمر و الجنس تم تقديم جميع <br/>المواد الي اخذ التاريخ كامل و التقييم السمعي الاساسي وتصوير الراراة بالفيديو(VNG) وري <br/>السعرات الحرارية باستخدم الماء واختيار القدرات العضلية الدهليزية العنقية (c-VEMP)<br/>والاختيار العمودي البصري الزاتي (SVV) وفحص الحالة العقلية المصغرة (MMSE)اختيار <br/>طريقة ارقام الرمز (SDMT)<br/>كانت اكثر السمات السريرية الموجودة في غالبية مرضانا هي رهاب الضوء (%83) ورهاب <br/>الصوت (%72) كما بلغت نسبة الامتلاء السمعي والطنين (%64) من بين جميع المرضي خضعت <br/>مجموعة الدراسة باكملها للتقييم السمعي فالكابينة اظهرت النتائج ان معظم الحالات كانت تتمتع <br/>بحاسة السمع فالحدود المحيطة الطنيعية وكشف %4 فقط منهم عن فقدان السمع الحسي العصبي عند <br/>الترددات العالية 4-8 كيلو هرتز <br/>اثناء اختيار VNG كانت النتيجة الاكثر شيوعا هي ايجابية الراراة وتم تسجيلها في ثمانية عشر <br/>(%34) من الحالات في وضع ديكس هالبايك احادي وسنائية الجانبين تم تسجيل الراراة الموضعية <br/>في تسع حالات (%17) مع راراة افقية كان الاتجاة ثابتا او يتغير مع تغير وضع الرائس اثناء <br/>اختيار استجابة القناة الدهليزية الجانبية كانت هنك سبع حالات %15)) تعاني من قصور في القناة <br/>الدهليزية الحانبية من جانب واحد فقطز |
