| Summary, etc. | Aim: the current study aimed to evaluate both quality and quantity of gained and maintained bone <br/>width after ridge splitting utilizing autogenic bone wedge versus mixed bone particles for horizontal <br/>ridge augmentation in anterior esthetic zone. <br/>Methodology: This randomized clinical study included 20 patients, with horizontally deficient ridge in <br/>esthetic region. Two groups were divided according to the type of intercortical bone graft used after <br/>ridge splitting; 10 patients for each. (Intervention group) had grafting with autogenous bone wedge <br/>harvested from chin and (control group) had mixed (autogenic with xenogenic) bone particles. <br/>Results: The outcome of the studied grafts showed a significant increase of the immediate <br/>postoperative bone width in the control group more than the intervention group with mean difference <br/>from the preoperative bone width (2.17±1.10) mm for the control group and only (1.44±0.66) for the <br/>intervention group while the 6 month postoperative bone width was decreased in both groups with <br/>mean difference from the immediate postoperative bone width (1.21±0.54) in the control group <br/>compared to only (0.41±0.50) in the intervention group, this statistical data revealed that the bone <br/>wedge technique of the intervention group helped to maintain the gained bone width more than the <br/>packed bone particles of the control group. Moreover intervention group showed higher value of newly <br/>formed bone area histologically. <br/>Conclusion: The two stage ridge splitting procedure using interposition bone wedge is an effective <br/>method for horizontal ridge augmentation in horizontally deficient anterior maxilla . |

| Summary, etc. | تم اجراء هذه التجربة السريرية العشوائية علي عدد عشرين مشارك بالغ ممن يعانون من النقص الافقى لعظام الفك العلوى الامامى.<br/>تم تقسيم هؤلاء المشاركين بشكل عشوائي إلى مجموعتين حسب الطعوم المستخدمة ف السنخ العظمي المقسم كل مجموعه تتضمن عشر مشاركين يتم وضع الطعم العظمي المخلوط بالحبيبات الصناعيه ف السنخ العظمي المنقسمفي المجموعة الضابطه ويتم وضع الاسفين العظميفي مجموعة الدراسة.<br/>تم ملاحظة ومقارنة قياسات العرض للعظام المطعمة علي ثلاث فترات وهي قبل زراعة العظم، بعد زراعة العظم مباشرة وبعد المتابعة لمدة ستة اشهر.<br/>وفي المرحلة الثانية من البحث تم اخذ عينه عظميه من مكان وضع الزرعات حيث انه تم صبغها للفحص النسيجي<br/>واوضحت النتائج ان قياسات العرض للعظام المطعمة كانت اعلي مباشرة بعد الجراحة للمجموعة الضابطه ولكن مجموعة الدراسة كانت لها القيمة الاعلي ف الحفاظ علي قياسات عرضها المكتسبه بعد المتابعه لمدة ستة اشهر.<br/>وكذلك الفحص النسيجي اوضح تكون مناطق بها خلايا عظمية جديده بشكل اكبر ف مجموعة الدراسة عن المجموعة الضابطه |
