| Summary, etc. | Background: Postpartum low back pain (LBP) is a distressing complain affecting about 75% of women after delivery, interfering with their daily activities and the new babies' care. <br/>Objectives: This study sought to examine retro-walking (RW) effectiveness on postpartum LBP.<br/>Materials and methods: Thirty-six postpartum women suffering from LBP after cesarean section delivery (from 6 weeks to 6 months), with ages from 25-35 years, participated in the study. They were randomly allocated into two equal groups; the control group practiced postural correction exercises and back care advice only for 3 weeks, the study group practiced a similar program as the control group plus a retro-walking program on a treadmill for 15 minutes, three sessions/week for three weeks. Each woman in each group was assessed before and after the treatment through the visual analog scale (VAS), Modified Schober test, and Oswestry disability index (ODI) to evaluate the pain intensity, lumbar flexion, and extension range of motions (ROM), and functional disability, respectively.<br/>Results: Both groups exhibited significant improvements across all measured outcomes following treatment compared to baseline values (p < 0.01). Comparing both groups indicated that group B demonstrated superior results, with a significant reduction in VAS and ODI scores, and increased lumbar flexion and extension ROM after treatment (p < 0.01).<br/>Conclusion: Retro-walking can be recommended as an effective adjunctive treatment protocol for postpartum females with LBP. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: تُعد آلام أسفل الظهر بعد الولادة من الشكاوى المزعجة التي تؤثر على نحو ٧٥% من النساء بعد الولادة، مما يعيق أداء الأنشطة اليومية والعناية بالمولود الجديد.<br/>الأهداف:هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى فحص فعالية المشي الخلفي في التخفيف من آلام أسفل الظهر بعد الولادة.<br/>الطرق والأساليب: شاركت في الدراسة٣٦سيدة تعاني من آلام أسفل الظهر بعد الولادة القيصرية، تتراوح أعمارهن بين ٢٥و٣٥عامًا، وتم توزيعهن عشوائيًا إلى مجموعتين متساويتين.<br/>المجموعة الضابطة مارست تمارين تصحيح القوام ونصائح العناية بالظهر فقط لمدة ٣أسابيع، بينما مارست مجموعة الدراسة نفس البرنامج بالإضافة إلى المشي الخلفي على جهاز المشاية الكهربائية لمدة ١٥دقيقة، ثلاث مرات أسبوعيًا لمدة ٣ أسابيع. تم تقييم كل سيدة قبل وبعد العلاج باستخدام مقياس الألم البصرى،واختبار شوبير المعدل، ومؤشر العجز أوزوستريلقياس شدة الألم، والمدى الحركى للانحناء الامامي والخلفي، والعجز الوظيفي على التوالي.<br/>النتائج:أظهرت المجموعتان تحسنًا ذو دلالة احصائية في جميع المؤشرات بعد العلاج مقارنة بالقيم الأساسيةوأظهرت المقارنة بين المجموعتين تفوقًا ذو دلالة احصائية لصالح مجموعة الدراسة ، حيث سجلت انخفاضًا كبيرًا في مقياس الألم البصرىواستبيان العجز أوزوستريلقياس شدة الألم ، وزيادة في المدي الحركي للانحناء الامامي والخلفيبعد العلاج.<br/>الاستنتاج: يمكن التوصية بالمشي الخلفي كعلاج مساعد فعال للنساء بعد الولادة اللواتي يعانين من آلام أسفل الظهر. |
