Summary, etc. This research evaluates the rock discontinuities effect on axial friction pile capacity. Reliable design of rock-socketed bored piles depends on accurate rock mass data, such as in-situ Uniaxial Compressive Strength (UCS) and modulus of Elasticity. Obtaining these properties is expensive and challenging. Lab-based rock sample tests often introduce uncertainty in pile design. A novel procedure utilizing the Geological Strength Index (GSI) was proposed to improve design accuracy. The modified method, verified by pile load tests, generates a reduction factor from GSI to predict friction capacity. Comparisons with international codes were made, providing guidelines for determining GSI and calculating axial friction capacity for rock-socketed piles

Summary, etc. هذا البحث يهدف إلى تقييم تقدير تأثير الفواصل الصخرية على حساب سعة الاحتكاك للخوازيق. يعتمد التصميم الموثوق للخوازيق المحفورة المثبتة في الصخور على بيانات دقيقة لخصائص كتلة الصخور، مثل مقاومة الانضغاط أحادية المحور ومعامل المرونة في الموقع. الاختبارات المعملية للصخور قد تُدخل بعض الشكوك في التصميم. تم اقتراح إجراء جديد باستخدام المؤشرالجيولوجي لمقاومة الكتل الصخرية (GSI) لتحسين دقة التصميم. تم التحقق من الطريقة المعدلة من خلال اختبارات تحميل للخوازيق لتحديد معامل الاحتكاك بين الصخر و الخرسانة يعتمد على (GSI). تم إجراء مقارنات مع المعايير الدولية، مما يوفر إرشادات لتحديد (GSI) وحساب قدرة الاحتكاك المحوري للخوازيق المثبتة في الصخور
