| Summary, etc. | Objectives <br/>Elderly people with decreased respiratory muscle activity are more prone to infections and impairments due to age-related functional decline. Decreased diaphragmatic function lowers quality of life by interfering with the respiratory system's function. Respiratory muscle exercise is one training strategy that can enhance daily activities and quality of life. Therefore, the study aimed to assess how breathing exerciser trainers affect diaphragmatic mass and excursion in elderly adults.<br/>Materials and Methods: The study included two equal groups of 30 participants each, ranging in age from 65 to 75 and representing both genders. Over an eight-week period, the study group participants received training from a breather exerciser trainer five times a week in addition to conventional breathing exercises, while the control group participants only performed conventional breathing exercises. <br/>Results: The study group shows significant (P <0.05) improvement in all measured variables compared with the control group. The diaphragmatic excursion increased from 2.63 ±0.64 cm to 3.82 ±0.66 cm.The diaphragmatic thickness increased from 3.56±0.56 mm to 4.50± 0.62 mm.The Katz activities of daily living (Katz ADL) score also increased from 2.93 ±1.11 to 4.73 ±0.82, and the 6-minute walk test (6MWT) score increased from 385.60 ±22.78 m to 485.33 ±28.85 m. Lastly, the quality-of-life score increased from 0.812 ±0.02 to 0.932 ±0.04. <br/>Conclusion: The breather exerciser trainer device boosts the elderly's functional capacity, quality of life, and functional status by improving diaphragm thickness. |

| Summary, etc. | شملت الدراسة مجموعتين متساويتين، كلٌّ منهما 60 مشاركًا، تتراوح أعمارهم بين 65 و75 عامًا، ويمثلون كلا الجنسين وعلى مدى ثمانية أسابيع، و لقد تلقى المشاركون في المجموعة (أ ) تدريبًا من جهاز تدريب التنفس البريزر خمس مرات أسبوعيًا، بالإضافة إلى تمارين التنفس التقليدية، بينما مارس المشاركون في المجموعه (ب) تمارين التنفس التقليدية فقط.<br/>النتائج: أظهرت المجموعة (أ) تحسنًا ملحوظًا (P <0.05) في جميع المتغيرات المقاسة مقارنةً بالمجموعة (ب). ازدادت حركات الحجاب الحاجز وسمكه من 2.63 ± 0.64 سم إلى 3.82 ± 0.66 سم بعد 8 أسابيع من استخدام جهاز تدريب التنفس، بالإضافة إلى العلاج الطبيعي التقليدي. <br/> (كاتز ADL) كما ارتفعت درجة كاتز لأنشطة الحياة اليومية من 2.93 ± 1.11 إلى 4.73 ± 0.82، وارتفعت درجة اختبار المشي لمدة 6 دقائق (6MWT) من 385.60 ± 22.78 متر إلى 485.33 ± 28.85 متر. وأخيرًا، ارتفعت درجة جودة الحياة من 0.812 ± 0.02 إلى 0.932 ± 0.04. |
