| Summary, etc. | This research investigated the impact of an AI-powered voice chatbot, <br/>developed using ChatGPT, on improving English speaking skills among Saudi EFL <br/>trainees at Energy Tech, a vocational institute in Dammam. The research addressed <br/>the challenges of traditional speaking instruction and explored how personality <br/>traits, introversion and extroversion, affect English oral communication skills. A <br/>quasi-experimental design was used with sixty male trainees (aged 18–21) were <br/>classified into introverted (n = 30) and extroverted (n = 30) groups. Over 12 weeks, <br/>they engaged in structured role-play tasks with the “AI Speaking Tutor” chatbot. <br/>Pre- and post-speaking proficiency was assessed using an adapted Cambridge A2 <br/>Key rubric. Results from paired samples t-tests showed significant improvements in <br/>speaking skills for both groups (introverts: M_diff = 3.06, η² = 0.335; extroverts: <br/>M_diff = 4.92, η² = 0.575, p < .001). Extroverts outperformed introverts on the post-<br/>test (p < .001), suggesting personality influences learning outcomes. The findings <br/>support the use of AI chatbots for scalable, low-anxiety, and personalized speaking <br/>instruction in TVET contexts. This research recommends the integration of AI-<br/>powered voice chatbots into English language programs for their role in <br/>personalizing learning and improving learners' oral communication skills. |

| Summary, etc. | هدف البحث الحالي الى قياس تأثير روبوت الدردشة الصوتي المعزز بالذكاء الاصطناعي،يسمى AI Speaking Tutor""، ، المُطور باستخدام تقنية ChatGPT، في تحسين مهارات التحدث باللغة الإنجليزية لدى المتدربين السعوديين في معهد الطاقة، وهو معهد مهني وتقنى بالدمام. تناول البحث تحديات تعليم التحدث بالطرق التقليدية، واستكشف كيف تؤثر سمات الشخصية، سواء الانطوائية أو الانبساطية، على مهارات التواصل الشفهي باللغة الإنجليزية. تم استخدام تصميم شبه تجريبي شمل ستين متدربًا (تتراوح أعمارهم بين 18 و 21 عامًا) وتم تصنيفهم إلى مجموعتين: انطوائية (ن = 30) وانبساطية (ن = 30). على مدار 12 أسبوعًا، شاركوا في مهام ادارة محادثات حوارية صوتية باستخدام روبوت "مُعلم التحدث بالذكاء الاصطناعي". تم تقييم مستوى إتقان التحدث قبل وبعد التجربة باستخدام نسخة معدّلة من اختبار كامبردج للتحدث A2 Key.وأظهرت نتائج اختبارات "ت" للعينات المزدوجة تحسنًا كبيرًا في مهارات التحدث لدى كلتا المجموعتين (الانطوائيون: فرق المتوسط = 3.06، قيمة مربع إيتا = 0.335؛ الانبساطيون: فرق المتوسط = 4.92، قيمة مربع إيتا = 0.575، قيمة الاحتمال > 0.001). وقد تفوق الأفراد الانبساطيون على الانطوائيين في الاختبار البعدي (قيمة الاحتمال > 0.001)، مما يشير إلى أن سمات الشخصية تؤثر على نتائج التعلم.تدعم النتائج استخدام روبوتات المحادثة المدعومة بالذكاء الاصطناعي كوسيلة لتنمية مهارات التواصل الصوتى باللغة الإنجليزية ، وتحد من القلق والتوتر، وتوفر تجربة تعليمية شخصية للتحدث في سياقات التعليم الفني والمهني. ويوصي هذا البحث بدمج روبوتات المحادثة الصوتية التي تعمل بالذكاء الاصطناعي في برامج اللغة الإنجليزية لدورها الفعال في تخصيص التعلم وتحسين مهارات التواصل الشفهي لدى المتعلمين. |
