Summary, etc.	Background: Non-specific low back pain (NSLBP) is prevalent among athletes, particularly rowers, affecting performance and quality of life. Understanding motor control deficits (MCD) in this context is crucial. Objectives: To assess motor control deficits in rowers with NSLBP, evaluate their performance, and explore the relationship between motor control testing (MCT) scores and pain intensity, duration, and performance. Methods: Eighty-four active rowers were divided into two groups: those with non-specific lower back pain (NSLBP) and healthy controls. Motor control was assessed through a series of tests, which included four MCTs using a pressure biofeedback unit. Performance was evaluated based on the results of a 2000-meter ergometer test. Pain intensity was measured using a Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS). Statistical analysis included correlation and comparison tests to examine the relationship between MCT scores, pain, and performance outcomes. Results: While significant differences in MCT scores were found between rowers with NSLBP and healthy controls (p < 0.05), a non-significant difference was noted in performance score (P<0.05). MCT scores of Active Straight Leg Raising (ASLR) Left and Knee Lift Abdominal Test Left showed a significant negative correlation with pain intensity (p < 0.05), and a significant positive correlation of ASLR Right, Bent Knee Fallout lift with disease duration (p < 0.05) in rowers with NSLBP. Additionally, a non-significant correlation was observed between MCT scores and performance in all measures. Conclusions: This study highlights the presence of MCD in rowers with NSLBP. These deficits are associated with longer symptom duration, though they may not directly impact performance. Addressing motor control impairments could reduce pain chronicity and improve clinical outcomes in this population.
