520 #3 - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. This dissertation focuses on developing a tour-based travel demand model for the
Greater Cairo Region using automatic calibration technique. This model is calibrated
using HIS survey and traffic counts on major corridors in GCR using genetic algorithm.
Moreover, this model was validated to get (R2 =0.86) between assigned and observed
counts. Furthermore, this model was used later to test remote working as a TDM
strategy for only two days out of five simulation days. A bi-level mathematical
formulation was developed to describe this model. The upper level seeks least square
difference between transit demand and capacity, also the lower level seeks total travel
time minimization over the simulation period. Another GA code was built to seek the
optimum solution of the simplified version of the bi-level model. Finally, this strategy
was compared with/without application of social distancing constraints in transit.
Traffic MOPs were analyzed for both scenarios.
520 #3 - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
