| Summary, etc. | Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate and compare the changes in retentive <br/>forces and wear resistance of Poly Ether Ether Ketone (PEEK) and Poly Ether Ketone <br/>Ketone (PEKKTON) as secondary copings of telescopic crowns on two un-splinted <br/>implant- retained mandibular overdenture under short-term simulated function. <br/><br/>Methodology: a model carrying telescopic over denture on two implants with the same <br/>primary coping and two different types of overlying secondary copings, acrylic complete <br/>denture was constructed with picked up corresponding secondary copings. The tensile <br/>forces were applied using a universal testing machine to evaluate retention force, and <br/>digital microscope was utilities to evaluate wear. Evaluation of retentive force & wear <br/>resistance of Poly Ether Ether Ketone (PEEK) and Poly Ether Ketone Ketone <br/>(PEKKTON) secondary copings was carried out at five-time intervals; at baseline and <br/><br/><br/> <br/><br/>VI <br/><br/> <br/><br/>after they are subjected to cyclic loading under at 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 cycles of <br/>repeated insertion and removal. <br/><br/> <br/><br/>Results: Retentive values were recorded by using independent t-test which revealed the <br/>retention of the group II (PEKKTON) was higher than those of group I(PEEK) at <br/>baseline & after exposure to different cyclic loading (500- 1000- 1500- 2000). <br/>Regarding the wear, comparison of wear (wear change) of both groups was performed <br/>by using t-test between mean difference which revealed that the group II (PEKKTON) <br/>was lower than group I(PEEK). <br/>Conclusions: PEEK and PEKKTON are promising to be successfully used in implant <br/>overdentures as the secondary copings for telescopic coping attachment with satisfactory <br/>retention. However, the retention values of PEKKTON were higher than PEEK and <br/>wear values of PEKKTON were less than PEEK . |

| Summary, etc. | تهدف هذه الدراسة المعمليه تقييم درجة الاستبقاء و تآكل نوعان من الاغطية الثانوية لمادتي البولي إيثر إيثر كيتون (بييك) مقارنة بالبولي إيثر كيتون كيتون (بكتون) كأغطية ثانوية للتيجان التلسكوبية المثبته على غرستان للطقم الفوقي السفلي.<br/>oالمجموعه الاولى نموذج للفك السفلي يحمل غطاء ثانوي بييك. <br/>oالمجموعه الثانية نموذج للفك السفلي يحمل غطاء ثانوي بكتون.<br/>•بعد تثبيت الأغطية الثانوية على الطقم الفوقي السفلي تم استخدام جهاز رقمي لإطلاق القوه علي الحلقه المعدنيه الموجوده في المركز الهندسي للطقم السفلي وعلي الاقواس الثلاث المثبته علي الاكريلك للأطقم المحمله علي الجزء الامامي والجزء الخلفي للأطقم.<br/>•تم قياس قوة الاستبقاء علي فترات مختلفه(خط الاساس- 500 و 1000و1500و2000) دوره من اجل محاكاه متابعه لمده عام واحد في الاستخدام الاكلينيكي .<br/>•وقد تم إستخدام جهاز آلي لقياس تأثير المضغ بعمل دوارات إدراج وإزالة لهذه الأطقم و وباستخدام الميكروسكوب الرقمي تم تحديد الأماكن التي حدث فيها التآكل في الأغطية الثانوية و تم إجراء هذا القياس في نفس الفترات الزمنيه المذكوره سابقا. <br/>•وقد اظهرت النتائج أن هناك تزايد في قوة الاستبقاء لكلا من المادتين, وقد أثبت أن الغطاء الثانوي بكتون له قوة استبقاء أعلى من قوة استبقاء الغطاء الثانوي بيك , وقد كان هذا أحد الأسباب التي تبرر لما كان تآكل الغطاء الثانوي بيكتون أقل من الغطاء الثانوي بييك . |
