| Summary, etc. | Background <br/>Topical anesthetics are effective, safe alternatives to lidocaine. <br/>Objectives <br/>Compare lidocaine cream versus injection for pain control during and after episiotomy <br/>and reducing the risk of infection and dyspareunia in 6 weeks post-partum. <br/>Methods <br/>This RCT involved 60 patients assessing pain management during and after episiotomy. <br/>Group I received lidocaine infiltration; Group II, lidocaine-prilocaine cream. Pain was <br/>evaluated using VAS and follow-up assessments by CAST score. <br/>Results <br/>No significant differences were noted between groups in demographic and neonatal <br/>parameters, but Group 2 required extra anesthetic and completed procedures faster <br/>(statistically significant). Satisfaction differed significantly, with Group 2 reporting <br/>higher satisfaction than Group 1 (p-value < 0.001). |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية<br/>تُعدّ المخدرات الموضعية بدائل فعّالة وآمنة لليدوكايين.<br/>الأهداف: مقارنة كريم الليدوكائين بالحقن لتسكين الألم أثناء وبعد بضع الفرج<br/>وتقليل خطر العدوى وعسر الجماع خلال الأسابيع الستة الأولى بعد الولادة.<br/>الأساليب: شملت هذه الدراسة العشوائية المضبوطة 60 مريضة لتقييم إدارة الألم أثناء وبعد بضع الفرج.<br/>تلقّت المجموعة الأولى حقن الليدوكائين الموضعي؛ وتلقّت المجموعة الثانية كريم الليدوكائين-بريلوكائين.<br/>تم تقييم الألم باستخدام مقياس الألم البصري التناظري (VAS) وتقييمات المتابعة باستخدام مقياس CAST.<br/>النتائج: لم تُلاحظ فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين المجموعتين في الخصائص الديموغرافية وخصائص حديثي الولادة<br/>لكن المجموعة الثانية احتاجت إلى جرعة إضافية من المخدر وأكملت الإجراءات بشكل أسرع<br/>(ذات دلالة إحصائية). اختلف مستوى الرضا بشكل ملحوظ، حيث أبلغت المجموعة الثانية<br/>عن رضا أعلى من المجموعة الأولى (قيمة p < 0.001). |
