| Summary, etc. | Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a universal <br/>reproductive, endocrine, and metabolic disorder. It affects 9.2% of women <br/>worldwide. Echinochrome (Ech) is the most common dark red pigment of <br/>sea urchin shells and possesses high antioxidant and hypoglycemic <br/>properties. Quercetin (Quer) is a flavonol widely distributed in plants with <br/>high antioxidant properties. Therefore, Ech and Quer as a combined <br/>protective therapy were investigated against letrozole and high fat diet <br/>induced PCOS model in rats. Methods: 60 female rats were divided <br/>randomly into five groups: Control: received 2% DMSO with a normal diet, <br/>PCOS: received letrozole with HFD, Ech: received letrozole and Ech with <br/>HFD, Quer: received letrozole and Quer with HFD, Ech+Quer: received <br/>letrozole, Ech and Quer together daily orally for four weeks. The half rats of <br/>each group were sacrificed, and the remaining rats were examined their <br/>ability for mating and fertility. Results: Ech and Quer treatment restored <br/>normal levels of lipid and hormonal profiles, oxidative status, kidney and <br/>liver functions with a marked amelioration in ovarian, uterine histopathology <br/>and a good evidence in pregnancy analysis. Conclusion: Ech and Quer were <br/>found to have a potent protective effect against PCOS, minimal side effects, <br/>and improved progeny outcomes in rats. |

| Summary, etc. | متلازمة تكيس المبايض هي اضطراب تناسليي، وهرموني، واستقلابي عام. تصيب 9.2% منالنساء حول العالم.يعد الاكينوكروم أكثر أنواع الصبغات الحمراء الداكنة شيوعا في أصداف قنفذ البحر،ويمتلك خصائ صَمضادة للاكسدة وخافضة لسكر الدمأما الكيرسيتين فهو فلافونول منتشرعلى نطا قٍ واسع في النباتات وله خصائَص مضادة للاكسدة عالية. لذلك، درسالاكينوكروم و الكيرسيتين كعلاجوقائي مشترك ضد نموذج ٍمتلازمة تكيس المبايض المستحث بالليتروزول والنظام الغذائيغني بالدهون لدي الفئران. الطريقة: قسمت 60 أنثي جرذان عشوائيا إلي خمس مجموعات: المجموعة الضابطة : تلقت 2% من ثنائي ميثيل سلفوكسيد مع نظام غذائي طبيعي, المجموعة المصابة بمتلازمة تكيس المبايض : تلقت ليتروزول مع نظام غذائي عالي الدهون, المجموعة المصابة بمتلازمة تكيس المبايض: تلقت ليتروزول و الإكينوكروم مع نظام غذائي عالي الدهون, المجموعة المصابة بمتلازمة تكيس المبايض مع الكيرسيتين: تلقت ليتروزول و الكيرسيتين مع نظام غذائي عالي الدهون,المجموعة المصابة بمتلازمة تكيس المبايض مع و الإكينوكروم+ الكيرسيتين :: تلقت ليتروزول و الإكينوكروم و الكيرسيتين معا يوميا عن طريق الفم لمدة اربعة اسابيع. تم التضحية بنصف جرذان كل مجموعة, وفحصت قدرة الجرذان المتبقية علي التزاوج والخصوبة. النتائج : أعاد علاج الإكينوكروم والكيرسيتين المستويات الطبيعية لمستويات الدهون والهرمونات والحالة التأكسدية, ووظائف الكلي والكبد مع تحسن ملحوظ في الانسجة المرضية للمبيض والرحم, وأدلة جيدة في تحليل الحمل. الاستنتاج: وجد ان الإكينوكروم+ الكيرسيتين لهما تاثير وقائي قوي ضد متلازمة تكيس المبايض واثار جانبية ضئيلة, وتحسين نتائج النسل في الفئران. |
