| Summary, etc. | Background: University students are in the age group most interested in possessing smartphones for many different reasons. They use smartphones for a variety of activities such as studying, entertaining, accessing the internet or social networks, and social communication. Despite the many benefits of smartphone use, addiction to smartphones results in negative consequences affecting individual’s health, safety and daily lives.<br/>Purpose: to identify the correlation between smartphone addiction, gastrointestinal disturbances (GIT) and pre– exam stress in Beni Suef physical therapy students. <br/>Methods: sixty physical therapy students were enrolled to participate in the study. they were recruited from faculty of Physical therapy Beni Suef university. Their ages were ranged from 18 to 23 years old and their body mass index (BMI) ranged from 18.5 to 29.9. Smart phone addiction was assessed using Smartphone Addiction Scale (Short Version), stress was examined by Perceived Stress Scale (PSS–10) and cortisol level in blood ,while GIT disturbances were evaluated through gastrointestinal symptoms rate scale. <br/>Results: The results of the present study showed that smartphone addiction was positively correlated with gastrointestinal disturbances (p=0.013), while there was no correlation between smartphone addiction and perceived stress (p=0.552) and similarly no correlation between smart phone addiction and cortisol level (p=0.385) , Additionally, no significant correlation was found between gastrointestinal disturbances and cortisol level (p=0.274).<br/>Conclusion: It was concluded that the smart phone addiction had an effect on gastrointestinal symptoms in physical therapy students during the pre–exam period ,it may be due to some factors like eating behavior disorders , increasing consumption of unhealthy foods and sedentary behavior. Other factors may affect pre–exam stress like psychological factors, academic level and emotional factors. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: طلاب الجامعات هم من الفئة العمرية الأكثر اهتماماً بإمتلاك الهواتف الذكية لأسباب عديدة ومختلفة. حيث يستخدمون الهواتف الذكية في مجموعة متنوعة من الأنشطة مثل الدراسة والترفية والوصول إلى الإنترنت أو الشبكات الاجتماعية والتواصل الاجتماعي وعلى الرغم من الفوائد العديدة لإستخدام الهواتف الذكية، إلا أن إدمان الهواتف الذكية يؤدي إلى عواقب سلبية تؤثر على صحة الفرد وسلامته وحياته اليومية.<br/>الغرض: لمعرفة العلاقة بين إدمان الهواتف الذكية واضطرابات الجهاز الهضمي وتوتر ما قبل الامتحان لدى طلاب العلاج الطبيعي ببني سويف.<br/>الطرق: تم تضمين ستين طالب من طلاب العلاج طبيعي للمشاركة في هدة الدراسة وقد تراوحت أعمارهم بين 18–23 سنة ومؤشر كتله الجسم بين 18.5 الي 29.9 كم/ م2. تم فحص إدمان الهواتف الذكية من خلال مقياس إدمان الهواتف الذكية – الإصدارات القصيرة، وتم فحص التوتر من خلال مقياس التوتر المدرك وعن طريق قياس مستوي الكورتيزول في الدم، بينما تم فحص اضطرابات الجهاز الهضمي من خلال مقياس معدل أعراض الجهازالهضمي.<br/>النتائج: أظهرت نتائج هذة الدراسة أن إدمان الهاتف الذكي كان مرتبطا بشكل إيجابي باضطرابات الجهاز الهضمي(ع = 0.013) ، في حين لم يكن هناك ارتباط بين إدمان الهاتف الذكي والتوتر المدرك ) ع = 0.552)، وبين إدمان الهواتف الذكية ومستوى الكورتيزول في الدم(ع = 0.385)، بالاضافة إلى لا توجد علاقة معبرة بين اضطرابات الجهاز الهضمي ومستوى الكورتيزول في الدم (ع = 0.274).<br/>الاستنتاجات: تم الإستنتاج الي ان إدمان الهواتف الذكية له تأثير علي اضطرابات الجهاز الهضمي في طلاب العلاج الطبيعي اثناء فتره ماقبل الامتحان و قد يكون ذلك بسبب بعض العوامل مثل اضطرابات سلوك الأكل، وزيادة استهلاك الأطعمة غير الصحية، والسلوك المستقر. و قد تكون هناك عوامل أخرى تؤثر على توتر ما قبل الامتحان مثل العوامل النفسية، والمستوى الأكاديمي، والعوامل العاطفية. |
