| Summary, etc. | Introduction: Smartphones are frequently used because of its portability and lightness which subjects the users to smartphone addiction, smartphone addiction was proven to cause many adverse effects including musculoskeletal problems. Purpose: To assess the effect of smartphone addiction on trunk muscles performance in adolescents. Participants and Methods: Sixty-six adolescent, their age ranged from 16 to 18 years, were selected from first year students of El-Salam University. They were sorted according to their smart phone addiction scale short version scores into two equal groups: Group (A): smartphone addicts (included 33 participants (16 females and 17 males)), Group (B): smartphone non- addicts (included 33 participants (16 females and 17 males)), isokinetic dynamometer was used for the evaluation of trunk flexors and extensors at two speeds (60o/sec and 120o/sec) and by using five tests: Peak torque/ body weight , work, power , agonist to antagonist ratio and time to peak torque for both trunk flexors and extensors. Results: No significant difference was shown in comparison between the two groups in any of the variables in the two speeds for the trunk flexors and extensors, however there was a significant difference between genders in favor of male groups, When studying correlation between the level of addiction and each of the variables ,there was weak significant correlation between variables and level of addiction for trunk extensors at the speed 120o/sec. Conclusion: There was no effect of smartphone addiction on trunk muscles performance in adolescents. |

| Summary, etc. | مقدمه: الهواتف الذكية تستعمل بكثره لخفة وزنها و سهوله حملها مما يعرض مستخدميها لإدمان الهواتف الذكية, إدمان الهواتف الذكية تم إثبات أنه قد يسبب العديد من الأعراض الجانبية تتضمن الجهاز العضلى الحركى. الهدف: قياس تأثير إدمان الهاتف الذكى على أداء عضلات الجذع عند المراهقين. الأفراد والأساليب: هذا البحث تم إجرائه على سته وستون مراهق من طلبة السنه الجامعية الأولى , وقد تم تصنيفهم حسب نتيجة مقياس إدمان الهاتف الذكى النسخة القصيرة الى مجموعتين : مجموعة (أ) وتتكون من 33 مدمن هاتف ذكى (17 ذكور و 16 إناث) و مجموعة (ب): 33 غير مدمن للهاتف الذكى (17 ذكور و 16 اناث), تم إستعمال جهاز الأيزوكاينتك فى عملية القياس لكلا من العضلات المثنية والفاردة للجذع فى سرعتين 60 و 120 درجه/الثانية وباستخدام خمس إختبارات: أعلى قوة بالنسبة لوزن الجسم, الشغل و المجهود, الوقت المستغرق لأقصى قوة ونسبة العضلات القابضة بالنسبة للعضلات المعاكسة, النتائج: أظهرت النتائج أنه لا توجد أى فروق ذات دلاله احصائية عند المقارنة بين المجموعتين بالنسبة للعضلات المثنية والفاردة للجذع فى السرعتين, ورغم ذلك فقد ظهرت فروق ذات دلالة احصائية عند المقارنة بين الجنسين لصالح الذكور, و عند دراسة العلاقة بين درجة إدمان الهاتف الذكى وكل من المتغيرات فقد ظهرت علاقة ضعيفة ذات دلالة احصائية بينهما فقط عند سرعة مائة وعشرون درجة فى الثانية بالنسبة للعضلات الفاردة للجذع. الخلاصة: إدمان الهاتف الذكى لا يؤثر على أداء عضلات الجذع عند المراهقين . |
