| Summary, etc. | تهدف الدراسة إلى تحليل العلاقة بين الإنفاق العسكري والنمو الاقتصادي بجنوب إفريقيا، والتوصل إلى دور الإنفاق العسكري في توفير الأمن والاستقرار وتسهيل الاستثمارات الأجنبية في الدولة، وإلقاء الضوء على الإنفاق العسكري المخصص للصناعات العسكرية وتأمين بعض المستلزمات الإنسانية والمشاركة في مجموعة متنوعة من الأشغال العامة التي يمكن استخدامها في المجالات المدنية والعسكرية، واستخدمت الدراسة المنهج التحليلي الكمي بتطبيق نموذج قياسي وهو نموذج ARDL، كما اعتمدت الدراسة على اختبار سببية جرانجر لكشف علاقة السببية بين الإنفاق العسكري والنمو الاقتصادي في جنوب إفريقيا، وتوصلت الدراسة إلى وجود علاقة توازنية طويلة الأجل بين متغيرات الدراسة كما أكد اختبار Bounds، وأظهر اختبار سببية جرانجر وجود علاقة سببية موجبة ذو اتجاة واحد من النمو الاقتصادي إلى كلاً من الإنفاق العسكري والإنفاق الحكومي على التعليم بما يؤكد أن النموذج القياسي المستخدم في هذه الدراسة يحقق أهداف التحليل بما يوفر أساساً قوياً لتحقيق النمو الاقتصادي في ظل الإنفاق العسكري، وأوصت الدراسة بإعادة تقييم جنوب إفريقيا لاستراتيجيات الإنفاق العسكري بما يعزز من الشفافية في الميزانية العسكرية، ومراجعة استراتيجيات الإنفاق الحكومي، وتعزيز الاستثمار في التكوين الرأسمالي الثابت ليساهم في نمو الناتج المحلي الإجمالي، وتوجيه السياسات الاقتصادية لتحفيز النمو الاقتصادي، بالإضافة إلى تعزيز التعاون بين أعضاء تجمع السادك وذلك بالشكل الذي يمكّن جنوب إفريقيا من فتح أسواق لصناعتها الدفاعية وتصدير أسلحتها لتحقيق منافع أمنية بخلاف المنافع الاقتصادية. |

| Summary, etc. | The study aims to analyze the relationship between military spending and economic growth in South Africa, and to reach the role of military spending in providing security and stability and facilitating foreign investment in the country, and to shed light on military spending allocated to military industries and securing some humanitarian supplies and participating in a variety of public works that can be used in civil and military fields. The study used the quantitative analytical approach by applying a standard model, which is the ARDL model. The study also relied on the Granger causality test to reveal the causal relationship between military spending and economic growth in South Africa. The study concluded that there is a long-term equilibrium relationship between the study variables, as confirmed by the Bounds test. The Granger causality test showed a positive causal relationship with one direction from economic growth to both military spending and government spending on education, which confirms that the standard model used in this study achieves the objectives of the analysis, providing a strong basis for achieving economic growth in light of military spending. The study recommended that South Africa re-evaluate military spending strategies to enhance transparency in the military budget, review government spending strategies, enhance investment in fixed capital formation to contribute to GDP growth, and direct economic policies to stimulate economic growth. In addition to enhancing cooperation between SADC members in a way that enables South Africa to open markets for its defense industry and export its weapons to achieve security benefits other than economic benefits. |
