| Summary, etc. | Background: Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) is a prevalent spinal deformity that emerges during the adolescent growth spurt. It disrupts normal sagittal spinal alignment, which may affect posture and the function of deep cervical flexor muscles. Purpose: To examine the correlation between Cobb’s angle and forward head posture, cervical sagittal curvature, and the performance of deep cervical flexor muscles in adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional correlation study was conducted on 34 adolescents (25 females, 9 males), aged 11–23 years, with AIS, Lenke types from 1 to 6. Cobb’s angle and Sagittal Cervical Curve Angle (SCCA) were measured radiographically. Forward head posture was assessed using the Craniovertebral Angle (CVA), and deep cervical flexor muscle performance was evaluated via the Cranio-Cervical Flexion Test (CCFT). Results: No statistically significant correlation was observed between Cobb’s angle and CVA, SCCA, or deep cervical flexor performance (p > 0.05). However, a moderate, statistically significant positive correlation was found between SCCA and both the activation score and performance pressure index from the CCFT (p < 0.01), suggesting a relationship between cervical sagittal alignment and deep neck flexor muscle performance. The average SCCA of 17.1° indicates that cervical hypolordosis was common among participants. Conclusion: There was no significant correlation between Cobb’s angle and forward head posture or deep cervical flexor performance.The presence of cervical hypolordosis was significantly linked to reduced deep cervical flexor performance, underlining the clinical relevance of assessing cervical sagittal alignment in AIS patients. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: يُعد الجنف مجهول السبب لدى المراهقين من أكثر التشوهات الشائعة في العمود الفقري خلال فترة النمو السريع في مرحلة المراهقة. يؤدي هذا الانحناء إلى اضطراب في الاستقامة السهمية الطبيعية للعمود الفقري، مما قد يؤثر على وضعية الجسم وكفاءة عضلات الرقبة العميقة المسؤولة عن الثبات. الغرض: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى فحص العلاقة بين زاوية كوب، ووضع الرأس الأمامي، وتقوس العمود الفقري العنقي في المستوى السهمي، وأداء العضلات العميقة للرقبة لدى المراهقين المصابين بالجنف مجهول السبب. الطريقة: أُجريت دراسة ارتباطية مقطعية على ٣٤ مراهقًا (٢٥ أنثى، ٩ ذكور) تتراوح أعمارهم بين ١١ و٢٣ عامًا، جميعهم يعانون من الجنف مجهول السبب بأنواع متعددة من الجنف (أحادية ومزدوجة). تم قياس زاوية كوب وتقوس العمود الفقري العنقي بالأشعة السينية، وتقييم وضع الرأس الأمامي من خلال زاوية القحف الفقري، وتقييم أداء العضلات العميقة للرقبة من خلال اختبار الثني القحفي العنقي باستخدام جهاز قياس الضغط. النتائج: لم تُظهر النتائج وجود علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين زاوية كوب وكل من زاوية القحف الفقري، أو زاوية التقوس العنقي، أو أداء عضلات الرقبة العميقة. في المقابل، وُجدت علاقة ارتباط إيجابية معتدلة وذات دلالة إحصائية بين زاوية التقوس العنقي وكل من درجة التفعيل ومؤشر الأداء في اختبار عضلات الرقبة العميقة، مما يشير إلى وجود علاقة بين استقامة العمود الفقري في المستوى السهمي وكفاءة العضلات العميقة. كما أظهر متوسط زاوية التقوس العنقي البالغة ١٧.١ درجة انتشارًا واضحًا لانخفاض تقوس العنق بين المشاركين. الاستنتاج: لم تُظهر النتائج وجود علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين زاوية كوب وكل من وضع الرأس الأمامي أو أداء العضلات العميقة للرقبة. بينما وُجدت علاقة ذات دلالة بين نقص تقوس الفقرات العنقية وكفاءة العضلات، مما يُبرز أهمية تقييم استقامة الرقبة السهمية ضمن الفحص الإكلينيكي لمرضى الجنف مجهول السبب. |
