| Summary, etc. | The genus Spodoptera, particularly Spodoptera frugiperda (fall armyworm), is a major agricultural pest in North Africa, threatening staple crops such as maize, sorghum, and rice. The rapid spread of S. frugiperda in Africa and Egypt is attributed to its high reproductive potential, strong migratory ability, and adaptability to diverse climatic conditions. Temperature plays a crucial role in its development, survival, and reproductive success, with optimal growth occurring between 25°C and 30°C. Additionally, environmental factors, including temperature and humidity, influence population dynamics, as indicated by pheromone trap monitoring. Enzymatic activity and biochemical composition in larvae vary with temperature, affecting metabolic efficiency and insecticide resistance. Understanding these interactions is essential for predicting pest outbreaks and developing effective, environmentally sustainable management strategies.<br/>The objective of the current study aimed to:<br/>I.Effect of temperature on biological aspects and life-table parameters of S. frugiperda under laboratory condition.<br/>II.Investigate the population fluctuation of S. frugiperda moths and its relation to weather factors by using sex- pheromone trap catches and predicting the annual generations in relation to heat unites accumulation model.<br/>III.Effect of temperature on the activity of enzymes and the biochemical composition of S. frugiperda 6th instar larvae. |

| Summary, etc. | يعتبر جنس Spodoptera، وخاصةً Spodoptera frugiperda (دودة الحشد الخريفية)، هى آفة زراعية رئيسية في شمال أفريقيا، إذ تهدد المحاصيل الأقتصادية كالذرة والذرة الرفيعة والأرز. ويُعزى الانتشار السريع لدودة الحشد الخريفية S. frugiperda في أفريقيا ومصر إلى قدرتها التكاثرية العالية، وقدرتها القوية على الهجرة، وقدرتها على التكيف مع الظروف المناخية المتنوعة.<br/>غزت دودة الحشد الخريفية (S. frugiperda) أفريقيا، متسببةً في خسائر في المحاصيل تزيد عن 6.2 مليار دولار سنويًا. تُمثل مكافحة دودة الحشد الخريفية باستخدام المبيدات الحشرية الاصطناعية والمحاصيل المعدلة وراثيًا تحديًا نظرًا لسوء استخدامها، وارتفاع تكلفتها، وتطور مقاومتها. وهي آفة زراعية في أمريكا الشمالية والجنوبية، متسببةً في خسائر في المحاصيل تصل إلى 13 مليار دولار سنويًا. تلعب درجة الحرارة دورًا حاسمًا في نموها وبقائها ونجاح تكاثرها، حيث يتراوح النمو الأمثل بين 25 و30 درجة مئوية. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، تؤثر العوامل البيئية، بما في ذلك درجة الحرارة والرطوبة، على ديناميكيات التعداد، كما يتضح من رصد مصائد الفيرومونات. ويختلف النشاط الأنزيمي والتركيب الكيميائي الحيوي في اليرقات باختلاف درجة الحرارة، مما يؤثر على الكفاءة الأيضية ومقاومة المبيدات الحشرية. ويُعد فهم هذه التفاعلات أمرًا ضروريًا للتنبؤ بانتشار الآفات ووضع استراتيجيات فعالة ومستدامة بيئيًا لإدارة الآفات.<br/>هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى دراسة: <br/>1) تأثير درجة الحرارة على الجوانب البيولوجية ومعايير جدول حياة لدودة الحشد الخريفية تحت الظروف المعملية.<br/>2) دراسة تعداد دودة الحشد الخريفية وعلاقتها بعوامل الطقس باستخدام مصائد الفرمونات الجنسية والتنبؤ بالأجيال السنوية فيما يتعلق بنموذج تراكم الوحدات الحرارية.<br/>3) تأثير درجة الحرارة على نشاط الإنزيمات والتركيب الكيميائي الحيوي ليرقات العمر السادس لدودة الحشد الخريفية . |
