| Summary, etc. | This thesis introduces a practical three-step risk assessment framework for industrial <br/>projects, specifically focusing on power plant construction in Egypt. Recognizing the <br/>inherent risks in the construction industry, especially in complex projects, the study <br/>emphasizes the importance of effective risk management. The framework includes risk <br/>identification, analysis, response, and monitoring. Through extensive literature <br/>reviews and surveys, the research identifies and assesses 20 specific risks in power <br/>plant construction, such as delays in material supply and construction time, currency <br/>devaluation, inflation, and contractor handover issues. The risks are categorized into <br/>five classes, prioritized by significance. Proactive and contingency actions are <br/>proposed for each risk. Applied to a real power plant project, the framework's validity <br/>is confirmed by comparing results with actual project data. The study concludes by <br/>highlighting the need for comprehensive risk management studies across all <br/>construction projects to bridge the gap between academic research and practical market <br/>needs. |
