| Summary, etc. | Background: Frozen shoulder syndrome is characterized by a progressive decline in both active and passive glenohumeral mobility. Scapular mobilization and posterior capsular stretching are commonly applied physical therapy interventions for its management. Purpose: To compare the effects of scapular mobilization versus posterior capsular stretching in patients with frozen shoulder syndrome. Patients and Methods: Thirty-four participants (aged 40–65years) diagnosed with unilateral frozen shoulder were randomly allocated into two equal experimental groups: scapular mobilization group and posterior capsular stretching group. Both groups received traditional treatments including infrared radiation, ultrasound therapy, glenohumeral mobilization, and pendulum exercises. All patients received treatment three times a week for duration of four weeks. The therapist measured the range of motion by bubble inclinometer, posterior capsular tension by ruler, pain and function disability by shoulder pain and disability index. Results: Both groups demonstrated significant improvements in range of motion, posterior capsular tension, pain and disability (P<0.001). However, no significant between-group differences were observed for most variables, except for external rotation, which showed a significant improvement in the scapular mobilization group (P=0.017).<br/>Conclusion: Both techniques are effective treatment options for frozen shoulder, and scapular mobilization may provide an additional benefit for improving external rotation |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: تتميز متلازمة الكتف المتجمدة بانخفاض تدريجي في حركة مفصل الكتف، سواءً كانت نشطة أو سلبية. يُعدّ تحريك لوح الكتف وتمرينات شد الكبسولة الخلفية لمفصل الكتف من التدخلات العلاجية الطبيعية الشائعة الاستخدام في علاجها.<br/>الهدف: مقارنة آثار تحريك لوح الكتف وتمرين شد أو تمديد المحفظة الخلفية لمفصل الكتف لدى مرضى الكتف المتجمد.<br/>العينة والطرق: يتم تقسيم أربعة وثلاثون مشاركًا (تتراوح أعمارهم بين 40 و65 عامًا) شُخّصوا بكتف متجمد أحادي الجانب، عشوائيًا إلى مجموعتين تجريبيتين متساويتين: مجموعة تحريك لوح الكتف ومجموعة تمديد المحفظة الخلفية. عولجت كلتا المجموعتين أيضًا بالأشعة تحت الحمراء، و بالموجات فوق الصوتية، وتحريك مفصل الكتف، وتمارين البندول. تلقى جميع المرضى العلاج ثلاث مرات أسبوعيًا لمدة أربعة أسابيع.<br/>النتائج: أظهرت كلتا المجموعتين تحسنًا ملحوظًا في نطاق الحركة، والألم، والإعاقة، وشد الكبسولة الخلفية (قيمة الاحتمالية <0.001). مع ذلك، لم تُلاحظ أي فروق جوهرية بين المجموعتين في معظم المتغيرات، باستثناء الدوران الخارجي، الذي أظهر تحسنًا ملحوظًا في مجموعة تحريك الكتف (P=0.017).<br/>الخلاصة: كلتا التقنيتين خياران علاجيان فعالان للكتف المتجمد، مع إمكانية أن يُقدم تحريك الكتف فائدة إضافية لتحسين الدوران الخارجي لمفصل الكتف. |
