| Summary, etc. | This study investigates the mediating role of Emotional Intelligence in the <br/>relationship between Quality of Life and Cognitive Overload. This quantitative <br/>deductive study analysed 500 questionnaires through convenience sampling. The <br/>data collection provides a snapshot of Egyptian private universities’ academic <br/>staff members through a cross-sectional time horizon. After collecting the <br/>necessary data, statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS and AMOS. <br/>Findings indicate that cognitive overload is directly related to mental noise <br/>because individuals cannot focus on several dimensions of life, job, and family. <br/>Academic staff members need to eliminate possible intrinsic, extraneous, and <br/>germane cognitive overload to enhance their working memory and amplify their <br/>performance at work. Findings also show that emotional intelligence can mediate <br/>such relationships by managing cognitive overload and enhancing quality of life. <br/>Universities’ management and academic staff may use this study to understand <br/>how emotional intelligence can help balance quality of life aspects and eliminate <br/>cognitive overload by controlling attention, monitoring mental, physical, and <br/>psychological health, creating a relaxing atmosphere for work, and enhancing <br/>teaching and learning. This study provides a comprehensive understanding of the <br/>three types of cognitive overload and how to manage each type in the workplace. <br/>It addressed the literature gap by developing measurements for quality of life and <br/>cognitive overload, contributing to the conceptual clarity of the constructs and <br/>their measurements. It also reflects on how emotional intelligence could solve the <br/>mental burden faced in the workplace while enhancing satisfaction. |

| Summary, etc. | تتناول هذه الدراسة الدور الوسيط للذكاء العاطفي في العلاقة بين جودة الحياة والحمل المعرفي. اعتمدت الدراسة علي منهج كمي استنتاجي, حيث تم تحليل 500 استبيان باستخدام اسلوب العينة المتاحة. وقدمت عملية جمع البيانات تصورا عاما لأعضاء هيئة التدريس في الجامعات الخاصة المصرية من خلال منظور زمني مقطعي. بعد جمع البيانات اللازمة, أجريت التحليلات الاحصائية باستخدام برنامجي SPSS و AMOS. أظهرت النتائج أن الحمل المعرفي يرتبط مباشرة الضوضاء الذهنية, نتيجة عدم قدرة الأفراد علي التركيز في عدة جوانب من الحياة والعمل والأسرة. ويحتاج أعضاء هيئة التدريس الاستفادة من هذه الدراسة لفهم كيفية مساهمة الذكاء العاطفي في تحقيق التوازن بين جوانب جودة الحياة والحد من الحمل المعرفي, من خلال ضبط الانتباه, ومراقبة الصحة النفسية والجسدية والعقلية, وتهيئة بيئة عمل مريحة, وتعزيز عمليتي التعليم والتعلم. تقدم هذه الدراسة فهما شاملا لأنواع الحمل المعرفي الثلاثة وكيفية التعامل معها في بيئة العمل, كما تسد فجوة في الأدبيات من خلال تطوير أدوات قياس لجودة الحياة والحمل المعرفي, مما يسهم في توضيح المفاهيم وقياسها بدقة. وتعكس الدراسة أيضا كيف يمكن للذكاء العاطفي أن يخفف العبء الذهني في بيئة العمل ويعزز الرضا الوظيفي. |
