| Summary, etc. | Objectives: To investigate the effect of high intensity electromagnetic technology on metabolic profile in men with central obesity.Design: A single-blinded randomized clinical study. Setting:Outpatient-setting.Subjects: Sixty menparticipants with central obesity were allocated randomly into two groups. Group (A) received high-intensityelectromagnetic technology, plus routine physical therapy protocol; Group (B) received routine physical therapy protocol.<br/>Intervention:Forty minutes per session, three sessions a week for threemonths, plus routine physical therapy protocol for group A; and while group B received dietary caloric restriction and 10.000 continuous steps daily using a pedometer application.Outcome measures: weight, body mass index, waist circumference and abdominal subcutaneous fat thickness, metabolic profile ‘low-density, and high-density lipoproteins, also triglyceride, as well body-Q questionnaire were measured pretreatment, and posttreatment.Results:No significant differences between pretreatment between both groups (p >0.05). There was a significant decrease in weight, body mass index, waist circumference, and abdominal subcutaneous fat thickness in both groups at posttreatment compared with that pretreatment (p <0.001).There was a significant decrease in low-density lipoprotein and triglyceride, and remarkable increase in high-density lipoproteins in both groups at posttreatment compared with that pretreatment (p <0.001) and a significant increase at posttreatment in body-Q questionnaire values compared with pretreatment in group A (p <0.001).Conclusion: Adding of high intensity electromagnetic technology (40 minutes per session, three sessions/week for 3 months) has a significant improvement on metabolic profile in male with central obesity. |

| Summary, etc. | الأهداف:تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى بحث تأثير تقنية الموجات الكهرومغناطيسية عالية الشدة على المؤشرات الأيضية لدى الرجال المصابين بالسمنة المركزية.التصميم:دراسة سريرية عشوائية أحادية التعمية.الإعداد:تم إجراء الدراسة في عيادة خارجية.المرضى:تم توزيع ستين مشاركًا من الذكور الذين يعانون من السمنة المركزية بشكل عشوائي إلى مجموعتين. المجموعة (أ) تلقت تقنية الموجات الكهرومغناطيسية عالية الشدة بالإضافة إلى بروتوكول العلاج الطبيعي الروتيني؛ في حين تلقت المجموعة (ب) بروتوكول العلاج الطبيعي الروتينيالتدخل:تلقت المجموعة (أ) جلسات علاج مدتها 40 دقيقة، ثلاث مرات أسبوعيًا لمدة ثلاثة أشهر، إلى جانب بروتوكول العلاج الطبيعي الروتيني مع الالتزام بخطو 10,000 خطوة يوميا باستخدام تطبيق مخصص لحساب الخطوات ؛ بينما تلقت المجموعة (ب) بروتوكول العلاج الطبيعي الروتيني مع الالتزام بخطو 10,000 خطوة يوميًا باستخدام تطبيق مخصص لحساب الخطوات.مقاييس النتائج:تم قياس الوزن، مؤشر كتلة الجسم، محيط الخصر، وسُمك الدهون تحت الجلد في منطقة البطن، بالإضافة إلى المؤشرات الأيضية مثل البروتينات الدهنية منخفضة وعالية الكثافة، والدهون الثلاثية، كما تم استخدام استبيان Body-Q قبل وبعد العلاج.النتائج:لم تظهر فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين المجموعتين قبل بدء العلاج (p > 0.05). بينما أظهرت النتائج بعد العلاج انخفاضًا ملحوظًا في الوزن، ومؤشر كتلة الجسم، ومحيط الخصر، وسُمك الدهون تحت الجلد في منطقة البطن في كلتا المجموعتين مقارنة بما قبل العلاج (p < 0.001). كما لوحظ انخفاض كبير في البروتينات الدهنية منخفضة الكثافة والدهون الثلاثية، وزيادة ملحوظة في البروتينات الدهنية عالية الكثافة في كلتا المجموعتين بعد العلاج (p < 0.001). وسُجل ارتفاع معنوي في درجات استبيان Body-Q في المجموعة (أ) بعد العلاج مقارنة بما قبل (p < 0.001).الاستنتاج:يُظهر استخدام تقنية الموجات الكهرومغناطيسية عالية الشدة (40 دقيقة لكل جلسة، ثلاث جلسات أسبوعيًا لمدة 3 أشهر) فعالية كبيرة في تحسين المؤشرات الأيضية لدى الرجال المصابين بالسمنة المركزية. |
