Background: Physical therapists are frequently exposed to physically <br/>demanding tasks related to their work, such as handling patients, applying manual <br/>techniques, and maintaining incorrect positions for long time, which might result <br/>in WMSDs. Purpose: This study aims to assess the ergonomic risk of Egyptian <br/>physical therapists, investigate the prevalence of musculoskeletal illnesses linked <br/>to their jobs in different body parts, and find out the correlation between these <br/>disorders and ergonomic risk Methodology: Seventy Egyptian (Al Qalyubia <br/>Governorate) adult physical therapists of both genders. With age ranging from <br/>25-36 years old. The RULA was used to assess ergonomic risk while performing <br/>2 tasks (ultrasound application and shoulder mobilization) and then Cornell was <br/>fulfilled by physical therapists to determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal <br/>disorders Results: results showed that physical therapists are exposed to low to <br/>medium risk while applying the ultrasound on wrist and are exposed to medium <br/>to high risk while performing shoulder mobilization. It also revealed that most <br/>common sites for WMSDs are respectively lower back, neck, upper back, right <br/>knee, left knee, right shoulder, right wrist and left shoulder which positively <br/>correlate with the ergonomic risk Conclusion: It can be concluded that Egyptian <br/>physical therapists may be exposed to varying degrees of ergonomic risk (from <br/>low to medium to high) with the different tasks they perform as part of their job. <br/>Also, most of the Egyptian physical therapists in this study suffer from <br/>musculoskeletal disorders which are positively correlated with the ergonomic <br/>risk. |

الخلفية: يتعرض أخصائيو العلاج الطبيعي بشكل متكرر لمهام تتطلب جهدًا بدنيًا متعلقة بعملهم، مثل التعامل مع المرضى، وتطبيق التقنيات اليدوية، والبقاء في أوضاع غير صحيحة لفترات طويلة، مما قد يؤدي إلى إصابات عضلية هيكلية.<br/>الهدف: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تقييم المخاطر الوظيفية المتعلقة بطبيعة العمل لدى أخصائيّ العلاج الطبيعي المصريين، ودراسة انتشار أمراض الجهاز العضلي الهيكلي المرتبطة بوظائفهم في أجزاء مختلفة من الجسم، ودراسة العلاقة بين هذه الاضطرابات ومخاطر طبيعة العمل.<br/>الطريقة: تم اختيار سبعون من أخصائيّ العلاج الطبيعي من كلا الجنسين بشكل عشوائي من مستشفيات محافظة القليوبية تتراوح أعمارهم بين 25-36 سنة. تم استخدام التقييم السريع للطرف العلوي (رولا) لتقييم المخاطر الوظيفية أثناء تأدية مهمتين (تطبيق الموجات فوق الصوتية وتحريك المفصلي لمفصل الكتف) ثم تم استيفاء استبيان كورنيل من قبل أخصائيّ العلاج الطبيعي لتحديد مدى انتشار اضطرابات الجهاز العضلي الهيكلي.<br/>النتائج: أظهرت النتائج أن أخصائيّ العلاج الطبيعي معرضون لمخاطر منخفضة إلى متوسطة أثناء تطبيق الموجات فوق الصوتية ومعرضون لمخاطر متوسطة إلى عالية أثناء أداء التحريك المفصلي لمفصل الكتف. كما كشفت أيضًا أن أكثر المواقع شيوعًا لاضطرابات الجهاز العضلي الهيكلي هي أسفل الظهر والرقبة وأعلى الظهر والركبة اليمنى والركبة اليسرى والكتف الأيمن والمعصم الأيمن والكتف الأيسر على التوالي والتي ترتبط ارتباطًا إيجابيًا بمخاطر طبيعة العمل.<br/>الخلاصة: يمكن الاستنتاج أن أخصائيّ العلاج الطبيعي المصريين معرضون لدرجات متفاوتة من مخاطر طبيعة العمل (من منخفضة إلى متوسطة إلى عالية) مع المهام المختلفة التي يؤدونها كجزء من عملهم. أيضًا، يعاني تقريبًا جميع أخصائيّ العلاج الطبيعي المصريين في هذه الدراسة من اضطرابات الجهاز العضلي الهيكلي والتي ترتبط ارتباطًا إيجابيًا بمخاطر طبيعة العمل. |
