| Summary, etc. | Aim: Aim of our study is to assess the effect of serum magnesium level , magnesium intake and socioeconomic level and their use as an indices for the Obstructive Sleep Apnea patients..<br/>Patients and methods: Eighty-three patients were recruited from the outpatient clinic of chest department or form inpatient of the same department of Kasr Al Aini faculty of medicine – Cairo university who were divided into case and control group according to the following inclusion and exclusion criteria.<br/>Results:<br/>- Serum magnisum level in the cases are low normal value or deficient.<br/>- Socio – economic status in the cases are low or middle socioeconomic status.<br/>- Magnesium intake level is low than normal in cases and control.<br/>Conclusion:<br/>This study demonstrated that patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) had significantly lower serum magnesium levels compared to healthy controls, alongside higher body mass index and greater prevalence of smoking, hypertension, and diabetes. |

| Summary, etc. | الهدف من الدراسة: تقييم تأثير مستوى المغنيسيوم في المصل، وكمية تناول المغنيسيوم والمستوى الاجتماعي والاقتصادي واستخدامها كمؤشرات لمرضى انقطاع التنفس الانسدادي أثناء النوم.<br/>المرضى وطرق البحث تم تحديد ثلاثة وثمانين مريضًا من العيادة الخارجية لقسم الصدر أو من المرضى الداخليين في نفس القسم بكلية طب قصر العيني - جامعة القاهرة والذين تم تقسيمهم إلى مجموعة حالة ومجموعة ضابطة وفقًا لمعايير الإدراج والاستبعاد التالية و ذلك فى خلال الفتره من فبراير 2025 و حتى اغسطس 2025.<br/>النتائج: استخدام نظام التسجيل الاجتماعي والاقتصادي، والكشف عن تناول المغنيسيوم من خلال تطبيق تحليل جدول تواتر الطعام، والكشف عن مستوى المغنيسيوم في المصل كمؤشرات على انقطاع النفس الانسدادي النومي باستخدام جهاز تخطيط النوم. |
