| Summary, etc. | This thesis evaluates six deep learning models—YOLOv11x, YOLOv8x, ResNet-50, VGG19, GoogLeNet, and SqueezeNet—for classifying mature and immature white blood cells in Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) using the Munich AML Morphology Dataset. The dataset comprises 18,365 single-cell images and was partitioned into training, validation, and testing sets. To address class imbalance, we applied multiple balancing techniques. Model performance was assessed using accuracy, precision, recall, specificity, and F1-score. Across all experiments, YOLOv11x achieved the best results, reaching 96% accuracy. These findings underscore the promise of advanced YOLO architectures for reliable, automated AML detection. |
