| Summary, etc. | This study analyzes energy use and GHG emissions in yarn and carpet manufacturing. Through benchmarking, it addresses local gaps and suggests sustainability improvements. BCF units, especially polyester, showed high electricity use; natural yarn units used less. Efficiency measures could cut electricity by 3% and gas by 10%. A 1.1 MW solar system may cover 35% of the unit’s demand, reducing emissions by 613 tons/year. Some units exceeded global benchmarks by 12–58% due to outdated equipment. The study recommends upgrades and solar to lower costs and support national sustainability goals. |
