| Summary, etc. | Background: Cognitive deficits are common in multiple sclerosis (MS). <br/>Studies revealed that manual dexterity is positively related to cognitive <br/>functions. Incoordination appeared to be best indicators of Cognitive <br/>impairment (CI) in patients with MS. Educational kinesiology program <br/>(EKP) has a beneficial effect on cognitive function. Aim of the study: To <br/>investigate the effect of educational kinesiology program on cognition, <br/>manual dexterity and bimanual coordination in RRMS patients. Subjects: <br/>Thirty six patients with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) with <br/>cognition impairment, manual dexterity and bimanual coordination <br/>dysfunction were divided into two equal groups: - Study group (Group A): <br/>(8male & 10 female) and Control group (Group B): (8 male & 10 female). <br/>Methods: All patients were submitted to complete clinical assessment pre <br/>and post treatment using the Rehacom computerized program, it was used to <br/>measure specific aspects of cognitive abilities and Purdue Pegboard Test <br/>(PPT), was used to assess manual dexterity and bimanual coordination. <br/>Study group (Group A) received : the Educational kinesiology program <br/>followed by conventional physical therapy program, Control group (Group <br/>B): received conventional physical therapy program. Results: the study <br/>group showed more significant improvement in cognitive function post <br/>treatment than control group. There was significant improvement in manual <br/>dexterity and bimanual coordination in both groups post treatment but more <br/>significant in study group (A) than control group (B). Conclusion: <br/>Educational kinesiology program training has a positive effect on cognitive <br/>function, manual dexterity and bimanual coordination in patients with <br/>relapsing-remitting MS. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: يعد العجز الادراكي شائعا في حالات التصلب المتعدد ويصيب المرضى في كل حالات المرض, تتاثر المهارات اليدوية بالعلامات السريرية للمرض في 76% من مرضى التصلب المتعدد, كشفت الدراسات ان المهارات اليدوية ذات صلة بشكل ايجابي بالوظائف الادراكية. واظهر عدم التناسق الحركي انه افضل مؤشر للاعتلال الادراكي في مرضى التصلب المتعدد, ويعد برنامج علم الحركة التعليمي ذات تأثير فعال على الوظائف الادراكية يجمع ما بين حركة القدمين واليدين لتعزيز وظائف فصي المخ الايمن والايسر.الهدف: الغرض من الدراسة الحالية هو دراسة تأثير برنامج علم الحركة التعليمي على الادراك, المهارات اليدوية والتناسق اليدوي الثنائي في مرضى التصلب المتعدد الراجع الانتكاسي . الدراسة: وقد شارك في هذه الدراسة ستة وثلاثون مريضا يعانون من مرض التصلب المتعدد الراجع الانتكاسي لديهم اعتلال ادراكي واختلال وظيفي في كلا من المهارات اليدوية والتناسق الثنائي اليدوي, وتم تقسيمهم الى مجموعتين متساويتين: المجموعة التجريبية (أ): (10 اناث و 8 ذكور) والمجموعة الضابطة (ب): (10 اناث و8 ذكور). تم تقييم جميع المرضى قبل وبعد العلاج بواسطة جهاز برنامج الحاسب الالي (ريهاكوم) تم استخدامه لقياس جوانب محددة من القدرات العقلية الادراكية , واختبار اللوح الوتدي( بردو) تم استخدامه لتقييم المهارات اليدوية والتناسق الثنائي اليدوي. وتم علاج المجموعة التجريبية (أ) ببرنامج علم الحركة التعليمي, تلاها برنامج علاج طبيعي تقليدي في صورة تدريبات للقوة و للتناسق الثنائي اليدوي للاطراف العلوية. بينما تلقت المجموعة الضابطة برنامج علاج طبيعي تقليدي في صورة تدريبات للقوة و للتناسق الثنائي اليدوي للاطراف العلوية فقط. الدلالة الاحصائية: وكشفت النتائج ان المجموعة التجريبية (أ) اظهرت تحسنا ملحوظا في الوظائف الادراكية على عكس المجموعة الضابطة (ب) التي لم تظهر اي تحسن في الوظائف الادراكية. بينما اظهرت كلتا المجموعتان تحسنا ملحوظا في المهارات اليدوية والتناسق اليدوي الثنائي.ولكن كانت المجموعة التجريبية (أ) لديها تحسنا ملحوظا اكثر من المجموعة الضابطة (ب). وطبقا لهذه (النتائج) نستخلص ان برنامج علم الحركة التعليمي احدث تحسنا ملحوظا في الوظائف الادراكية والمهارات اليدوية والتناسق اليدوي الثنائي. |
