| Summary, etc. | Solar energy is a key renewable resource in the pursuit of global clean energy goals. However, like other <br/>renewable sources, it suffers from intermittency and unpredictability, which pose challenges to grid <br/>stability. Energy storage systems offer a viable solution by storing excess energy for use during periods of <br/>low solar generation. This thesis addresses the major challenges faced by hybrid microgrids and presents a <br/>comprehensive, integrated solution based on advanced algorithmic techniques. In the first part, two novel <br/>hybrid deep learning models are proposed for forecasting photovoltaic (PV) power generation and load <br/>demand over various time horizons ranging from 30 minutes to 24 hours. These models, namely, the <br/>CNN-LSTM Autoencoder and the LSTM-CNN Transformer, demonstrate improved accuracy and <br/>adaptability across short- and long-term forecasts. In the second part, the attention is towards managing <br/>battery energy systems. A new Hybrid Grey Wolf Optimizer–Particle Swarm Optimization (GWO-PSO) <br/>algorithm is developed to optimize the charging and discharging schedule of a PV-battery storage system <br/>connected to a microgrid. The proposed method effectively minimizes grid power consumption peaks, <br/>enhancing the overall efficiency and stability of the system. |

| Summary, etc. | تُعد الطاقة الشمسية من أهم مصادر الطاقة المتجددة لتحقيق أهداف الطاقة النظيفة على مستوى العالم. ومع ذلك، فإنها، كغيرها من مصادر الطاقة المتجددة، تعاني من التقطع والعشوائية، مما يسبب تحديات في استقرار الشبكات الكهربائية. وتُعد أنظمة تخزين الطاقة حلاً فعالاً لهذه المشكلة، حيث تتيح تخزين الفائض من الطاقة لاستخدامه في فترات انخفاض التوليد الشمسي. يتناول هذا البحث التحديات الرئيسية التي تواجه الشبكات الصغيرة الهجينة، ويقدم حلاً شاملاً ومتكاملاً يعتمد على تقنيات خوارزمية متقدمة. في الجزء الأول، تم اقتراح نموذجين جديدين للتعلم العميق الهجين لتوقع توليد الطاقة الكهروضوئية والطلب على الطاقة على مدى آفاق زمنية متعددة تتراوح بين 30 دقيقة و24 ساعة. النموذجان المقترحان، وهما الشبكة الهجينة CNN-LSTM Autoencoder وشبكة LSTM-CNN Transformer، أظهرا دقة عالية وقابلية للتكيف في التنبؤات قصيرة وطويلة الأمد. في الجزء الثاني، فيُركّز على إدارة بطاريات التخزين. حيث تم تطوير خوارزمية هجينة جديدة تجمع بين خوارزمية الذئب الرمادي (GWO) وخوارزمية تحسين أسراب الجسيمات (PSO)، بهدف تحسين جدول شحن وتفريغ نظام تخزين الطاقة الكهروضوئية المتصل بالشبكة الصغيرة. وتُظهر النتائج أن الطريقة المقترحة تُقلل من ذروة استهلاك الطاقة من الشبكة، مما يُحسّن من كفاءة واستقرار النظام بشكل عام. |
