| Summary, etc. | Cellular materials are widely used in medical applications. The structure of cellular <br/>materials influences the scaffold’s performance in these applications. This work <br/>studied the effect of unit cell type and unit cell size on additively manufactured cellular <br/>materials' performance for bone tissue engineering applications. <br/>The thesis consists of four chapters. After the introduction in Chapter 1, Chapter 2 <br/>reviews the additive manufacturing technique, biomaterials, and scaffolds, and how <br/>they are utilized in tissue engineering applications. Chapter 3 introduces the <br/>experimental work on additively manufactured scaffolds, the characterization <br/>methods, and parameters to answer the research question: (What is the effect of unit <br/>cell type and unit cell size on the performance of additively manufactured PLA cellular <br/>scaffolds via fused filament fabrication method for bone tissue engineering <br/>applications?). The results discussed in Chapter 4 reveal that unit cell type and size <br/>influence scaffold properties, showing a preference for gyroid structures. Chapter 5 <br/>provides conclusions and recommendations based on the provided results and <br/>discussions. |

| Summary, etc. | تُستخدم المواد الخلوية على نطاق واسع في التطبيقات الطبية. هيكل المواد الخلوية يؤثر على أداء الدعامة في هذه التطبيقات. درست هذه الدراسة تأثير نوع وحدة بناء الهيكل الخلوي وحجم الخلية الواحدة على أداء المواد الخلوية المصنعة بالإضافة في تطبيقات هندسة الأنسجة العظمية. <br/>تتكون هذه الأطروحة من خمسة فصول. بعد المقدمة في الفصل الأول، يستعرض الفصل الثاني تقنية التصنيع بالإضافة، والمواد الحيوية، والهياكل المسامية وكيفية توظيفهم في تطبيقات هندسة الأنسجة. يقدم الفصل الثالث العمل التجريبي على الهياكل المسامية المصنعة بالإضافة، وطرق وخصائص التوصيف بهدف الإجابة عن سؤال البحث: ما هو تأثير نوع الخلية البنائية وحجمها على أداء الهياكل المسامية المصنوعة من حمض البولي لاكتيك بطريقة التشكيل بالخيوط المنصهرة.لتطبيقات هندسة العظام؟. تكشف النتائج التي نوقشت في الفصل الرابع أن نوع الخلية الواحدة وحجمها يؤثران على خصائص الهياكل المسامية، مع إظهار تفضيل للخلية من نوع الجايرويد. أما الفصل الخامس فيقدم الاستنتاجات والتوصيات بناءً على النتائج والمناقشات المطروحة. |
