Despite plenty of research , the cause of recurrent aphthous stomatitis ( RAU ) remains obscure . It has been proposed that , the aetiological factors such as local trauma , vitamin deficiencies and viral infections lead to aphthae formation via final common pathway based on increased oxidative stress |
