Summary, etc. Critical thinking has emerged as one of the most essential 21st century skills, a primary goal and a necessary outcome of education, prime importance is given to developing critical thinking skills in students in all aspects of education at the international level. Therefore, Aim: the aim of the current study was to assess faculty staff critical thinking dispositions and skills from their self and student's perspectives in a selected nursing faculty in Cairo. Design: A descriptive correlational study design was used to achieve the aim of the present study. Setting: This study was conducted at faculty of nursing {u2013}Cairo University, which located inside the campus of Cairo University hospitals. Sample: Two samples were included in the study; a convenient sample of 95 faculty staff participants and a stratified random sample of 310 of nursing students all over the four academic levels during data collection (2014-2015). Tools: Data were collected by using California critical thinking dispositions inventory scale and Critical thinking skills questionnaire. Results: The results revealed that the faculty staff showed positive disposition toward total critical thinking from their own perception (x7̄5.9%) and from student's perception (x7̄3.25%).They had high level of critical thinking skills from their own perception(x- 73.15%) compared lower level from students perception (x4̄0.83%).They both considered correct use of language as the highest ranked skill .Also, There were significance difference in students versus faculty staff self perception toward their critical thinking disposition (t=7.275, p<0.001) except systematicity and skills (t=7.275, p<0.001)except tendency to evaluate external subjects .Recommendation: The current study recommended that faculty administrators must conduct periodical workshops for improvement of faculty staff critical thinking skills especially junior staff . Also, further studies must be done to explore the importance of critical thinking as an essential skill for faculty staff and its relation to student's academic achievement and decision making skills.
