520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Background: One of the challenges that faces the hospitals is the medication errors and drug appropriateness including antibiotics misuse and development of different patterns of resistance. The presence of clinical pharmacists in many hospitals has significantly contributed to the reduction of many of these errors specifically in antibiotics by designing and implementing of antibiotic policy.Antimicrobial stewardship is a coordinatedset of interventions designed to improve and measure the appropriate use of antimicrobials, one of which is having a policy for antibiotic prescribing within the hospital. The first step for preparing antibiotic policy is establishment of a multidisciplinary antibiotic management team. The core of that team is infectious diseases physician andspecialized clinical pharmacist. This requiresthe acceptance of physicians to the clinical role of the pharmacists as well as complying with antibiotic prescribing policies. objectives:This study aimed to evaluate the perceptions and experience of physicians in the intensive care unit (ICU) of an Egyptian general hospital regarding the role of the pharmacists in the hospital and the pharmacists{u2019} ability to perform clinical services. In addition, education about rational use of antibiotics was provided to junior physicians and the acceptanceof the physicians to the pharmacists{u2019}interventions and the hospital antibiotic policywere evaluated
