Summary, etc. Background: Locally advanced breast cancer (LABC) is a common clinical problem, particularly in Egypt.The overall survival of LABC remained depressing.Therefore, finding a good predictor for the efficacy of treatment has an important significance. Class ÝIII tubulin is an isotype of tubulin that has been associated with malignant transformation and cancer development.The miRNAs are small non-coding RNAs that play an important role in gene regulation of many biological processes.Objective: To evaluate the role of ÝIII-tubulin and miRNA-200c as predictor markers for the efficacy of neoadjuvant taxanes therapy in advanced breast cancer patients. Methods: One hundred and forty three female breast patients: 22 patients with benign breast diseases and 121 breast cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant taxane therapy divided to: 94 responder patients and 27 non responder patients were enrolled in the present study and paraffin sections were collected. Patients were followed up from date of first diagnosis till end of the study.The expression level of ÝIII tubulin protein was immunohistochemically evaluated and miRNA 200c was evaluated using real time PCR. Results were correlated with response to neoadjuvant taxanes therapy. Results: The ÝIII tubulin protein was significantly higher in estrogen receptor (ER) negative and progesterone receptor (PR) negative breast cancer patients (P< 0.011, P< 0.053; respectively). It was also observed to be significantly up regulated in triple negative and HER2 enriched ( non luminals) cases and down regulated in luminals cases (p< 0.023).The miRNA 200 c was significantly down regulated in patients responding to taxanes as compared with non responders P< 0.009

Summary, etc. يعد سرطان الثدي عند النساء هو أكثر أنواع السرطانات التي يتم تشخيصها بين النساء في مصر ، حيث يقدر بنحو 22038 (32.4٪) ، يليه سرطان الكبد (14.3٪).<br/>سرطان الثدي المتقدم هو حالة سريرية شائعة ، خاصة في البلدان النامية (30-60٪). يعتبرالتعامل مع سرطان الثدي المتقدم أمرًا صعبًا بالنسبة لأخصائيي الأورام بسبب النطاق الواسع للعروض التقديمية.<br/>اكتسب العلاج الكيميائي الذى يتم تناوله قبل اجراء العمليةنجاح كبير فى التعامل مع سرطان الثدي المتقدم على مدى العقود الثلاثة الماضية. أثبتت التاكسانات ، وتحديداً الدوسيتاكسيل والباكليتاكسيل ، فعاليتها في علاج سرطان الثدي ، إما كعوامل منفردة أو مجتمعة.<br/>تم تحديد الهدف الخلوي لباكليتاكسيل على أنه الوحدة الفرعية ب للتوبيولين في الأنابيب الدقيقة. يرتبط الدوسيتاكسيل بنفس الموقع مثل الباكليتاكسيل ، ولكن مع تقارب أكبر.<br/>معظم العلاجات المضادة للسرطان لها فعالية وسمية غير متوقعة. العلامة التنبؤية هي عامل يشير إلى الحساسية أو المقاومة لعلاج معين. لذلك فان العلامات التنبؤية مهمة في علم الأورام لأن السرطانات المختلفة تستجيب بشكل مختلف للعلاجات المختلفة
