Also, it has been used in cosmetics and has a beneficial role in industry. The Food and drug administration (FDA) categorizes this food additive as Gras- generally recognized as safe which means it is widely considered safe for its intended use in specified amounts but didn{u2019}t have to undergo premarket review, A subsequent review by an independent committee supported their general safety, but concluded that 2uncertainties exist, requiring that additional studies be conducted. There is a controversy surrounds the association of BHT with the risk of cancer, asthma throid and some behavioral problems in children. some studies show a potential for increased risk, while others show a lower risk
